Curb installation - we create borders with our own hands

Stacking the curb with your own hands - trucker for a note

Long gone are the times when country plots were used exclusively for the garden. More and more lucky owners of summer cottages want instead of a garden to have on their plot flower beds, flower beds, flower beds and alpine hills. The dacha began to acquire the status of a place of suburban rest, where one can come and enjoy the enchanting beauty of flowers, the emerald green of the grass, and spend time in the shade of a well-groomed garden for a favorite pastime.

At the same time, many summer residents try to arrange flower beds, a garden, and even a little garden. To distinguish all these zones, curbs are required, which, like a picture frame, will frame all the elements of garden design. In addition, they act as a restrictor in the organization of garden walkways.

The market for building materials presents a wide variety of curbs, which allows you to choose those that perfectly fit into any garden design. But they should not be a separate and unrelated design element.

When choosing, it is necessary to take into account the combination with the color of the garden paths, and with the surrounding plantations, and with the finishing of the house. Modern garden curbs differ in shape, color, material of manufacture. There are plastic, wooden, concrete, metal, brick, etc. Laying the curb with your own hands is quite possible for the modern summer owner.

A variety of materials

The plastic border , first of all, is suitable for those who want to create on its site smooth curved lines of tracks, dividers between landscape zones, etc. A huge choice of color and texture will not leave indifferent any buyer and will be a real discovery for those wishing to implement on their site unusual landscape solutions.

With this variety, you can create multi-tiered flower beds, decorative fences between beds, sandboxes for children, etc. This curb is fastened very simply - with the help of pins, hammered into the ground. The peculiarity of this element is that, if necessary, it can be easily removed and transferred to another location.

Mounting of curbs from concrete is much more laborious. They are rectangular in shape, as well as imitating natural stones. They are suitable for rectilinear forms of fencing. Often when buying this species, the question arises: how to install curbs correctly? The sequence of actions for their installation will be discussed a little later.

Wooden curb - not the most durable and appropriate solution for the suburban area. It will require permanent care in the form of treatment with protective compounds, tints, etc.

Curbs made of natural stone ( shell, marble, granite, sandstone) also often raise questions about how to lay a curb. This type is established in this way: spunbond( non-woven fabric) is laid on the surface, stones are placed on it, picking them up against each other, small stones are placed between large stones, and then all the cracks are covered with dry cement.

The metal borders of are made of aluminum, copper and stainless steel in the form of tape. Borders of brick can be called the most famous and traditional. Mount both, and quite simply: a small penetration into the soil - quickly and reliably.

Installing borders yourself

Installing curbs with your own hands is a business that does not require special skills. A small exception is the installation of a concrete version. For work you will need: a rubber hammer, a clamp-plier for a curb, a trowel, any but not too thick cord, a building level, stakes for marking, tamping.

The installation should begin with the markup of the territory. Having planned all the main points, you need to drive in the pegs, and also pull the cord between them. After that, by pulling the cord, let's dig a ditch of the necessary depth.

In order to know at what depth to dig in the borders, it is necessary to determine at what height the ground level will be tile. If the tile is at the level of the surface of the earth, then to avoid its constant contamination, the borders should be higher than the level of the tile. And if the tile will rise above the level of the surface, then the borders should be made at the same level as the paving stones.

After digging out the ditch, tamper with its bottom. After that, a sandy-gravel mixture is poured onto the bottom and again rammed. Mix the solution( 3: 1) and put it on the bottom of the ditch. With the help of a grab-ticks, the borders are installed on the solution, adjusted to each other with a rubber mallet and set on a level. After a day, the gap between the curb and the ground is covered with sand and compacted.
