Veranda with own hands

Attachment to the house will not only decorate your summer residence, but also allow you to enjoy a delicious meal outdoors in any weather. In order not to go around the bush, we will immediately begin step by step instructions for constructing the veranda with our own hands.

Layout

The diameter of the cantilevered formwork of the future veranda is 3.6 m. Note the distance from the house to the place where the central support is located - 1.8 m. At this point, insert a peg. Tie a rope with chalk to the end( or just holding it in your hand) and draw a circle with a radius of 1.8 m and the second one - 1.2 m( or mark it on the ground with what you want).Do not forget to use auxiliary photos and video so that the veranda with your own hands was built right from the very beginning.

Now you need to mark the places for each of the 8 pillars. First peg to the right of the exit from the house on the veranda( on the line marked earlier 1.2 m circle).Further, counter-clockwise, stretch the rope by 45 degrees - beat the second peg. Again, stretch to an angle of 45 degrees, beat the peg. And so 8 times. The last peg you will kill to the left of the exit from the house on the veranda. As a result, you should get so that the distance( 45 degrees) between pegs 1 and 2 covers the doorway( exit to the veranda).Start the rope in a circle, tying it to each of the 8 pegs.

Central pillar

Dig a hole( hole under the pillar) below the freezing level of the earth - about 1 m( in the northern regions 1.5 m).On top of the finished hole, place a pipe with a diameter of 25 cm. For this purpose, a drainage or special casing can be used. Before pouring cement into it, shorten the pipe so that its upper edge is further "laid" formwork. Pour the prepared concrete to the very top of the pipe. At the center, insert a 10 cm long bolt( upper legs).

Now dig holes 1-1.5 m deep at the location of each of the 8 pegs. Insert casing pipes with a diameter of 15 cm so that they look out from under the ground by 8 cm.

Aligning backups

To make the construction of the veranda an ideal result, accuracy is important. Before pouring concrete into the pipes, it is necessary to install special supports on top of the pipes in such a way that they form the sides of the square. Fill the pipes with numbers 1 and 3( the first side of the future square( 1-3-5-7)), then 5 and 7( the second face) are odd messages. Then the even ones are 2 and 8, then 4 and 6( the second square( 2-4-6-8)).Filling with a solution of the pipe, make sure that they are located so that in the future there are 2 squares( see photo).

Formwork

Using self-tapping screws and holes in the supports, fix vertically placed bars on each of the 8 prepared pipes. The height of each of them should be at the level with the central support. Next, on the outside of the bars, you need to attach 8 boards in such a way that a square( 1-3-5-7) comes out, each side of which consists of two boards, as shown in the picture. Further from 16 boards it is necessary to make the second square( 2-4-6-8), but so that inside of the first there were no faces of the second - that corners were only from the outside( as on a photo).As a result, you will get an 8-gon - the basis of formwork.

Leading boards

Next, you need 8 leading formwork boards( 1.8 m long), each of which, starting from the central pole, crosses the point of each corner of the 8-gon. Each board sits at an angle of 45 degrees from neighboring. It is worth noting that 4 of the 8 beams have a peculiar shape on the side of the central support( as shown in the figure) - for a tight fit.

beams If everything was done with utmost precision, the ends of the end beam must be trimmed according to the scheme to align with the leading boards. Follow the rule "Measure seven times, cut once".

When all end boards are installed, make sure that the guides are correctly positioned at the connection point( center).If necessary, correct it.

Now you need to fasten the leading boards: since the 10 cm bolt is too short to rise above the level of the boards, attach a second bolt with a wide cap to it, using a nut. But before that, on the second bolt, screw one more nut and washer of large diameter. And then connect and then.

Lay the earth under the formwork with gravel about 5 cm thick.

Of course, the wooden veranda is not ready yet. Proceed to the next step.

Cross beams

In each of the 8 sectors there are 3 transversal beams: the first two from the center at one distance( 40 cm), the third divides the remaining space. It turned out 4 sections. The first one is left as is, the second one is divided in half by the perpendicularly located beam, the third by two, the fourth by 4.And so with each sector.

Floor

To make a summer veranda made with your hands, look nice, you need to choose a good floor covering, for example cedar flooring. Start laying the boards from the outer edge to the inner edge, using the screws. The first row should protrude on the end beam for 2.5 cm.

Correction of

Now, the correction for the central bolt is required. The top of the leading beams( in the center) must be cut in such a way that a circle forms around the bolt( step).Now, under the bolt and washer, you need to place a large washer, which will lie on the step of the leading beams. Cut the bolt to the desired length, if necessary, screw it.

Masking

Hide the screws securing the individual parts of the flooring, under special panels( use glue).

Completing the

Using only 4 pieces of boards, glue and screws, make protrusions for the columns, as shown in the photo. Install the steps that are already ready to buy in the building store.

To avoid fooling around with a roof for a long time and advantageously different from neighbors, buy a ready-made roof with columns, like the one in the photo, and after a while the veranda made by oneself will be ready.
