Wet plaster, as an excellent way of thermal insulation of facades

Advantages of the "wet" facade

In Russia, the technology of wet plaster application appeared about 10 years ago. However, for a short time this technique has gained great popularity. We describe the main advantages:

  • Easy installation of insulation and plastering.
  • A wide variety of textures and colors allows creating unusually beautiful facades with different architectural solutions.
  • Great savings in electricity, reduced financial costs for heating. Approximate service life is about 30 years.
  • Significantly increases the sound insulation of walls.
  • Relatively low cost of materials and laboriousness of construction works.

Technology of wet plaster

The essence of the whole technique is that the external walls are covered with a heater and plaster, diluted with water. From that and the name "wet" or "liquid plaster".As a heater, mineral wool or polystyrene foam is most often used. Mineral wool has high vapor permeability and incombustibility. Also, this material does not create an environment favorable for the formation of fungus and mold, reproduction of microorganisms.

It is most preferable to use mineral plates, as they prevent the spread of fire and the release of harmful substances. From the top are covered with polymeric or mineral plasters with a high level of vapor permeability. Thus, the condensate is effectively eliminated through plaster and the house "breathes".Despite the fact that this type of insulation has a higher cost, many experts recommend it.

Polystyrene foam, in contrast to mineral wool, has some disadvantages - low vapor permeability and low combustibility. Therefore, with the "wet" plaster, the content of vapors in the wall will be higher, and this creates good conditions for higher humidity. During the installation, do not use any frame, and the entire load carries the heater itself. That it is not deformed, it is fastened with a super-resistant adhesive and dowels. The plaster of foam blocks is carried out without any difficulties.

Lightweight and heavy plastering systems in the insulation of the facade of the house

With the wet facade, the plaster can be applied with with a thick layer( heavy) and a thin layer( light) method. The main difference between the first and the second is only a higher cost. Light systems are cheaper. They are fixed on the wall thanks to glue and dowels, and then covered with plastering compositions with a thickness of about 10 mm. Light facades are mounted on almost any foundation( brick, concrete, plywood). The heater itself must have a density of more than 150 kg / m3, as the walls can have all kinds of differences.

Heavy plastering systems, in contrast to the lungs, have a separate operation of the thermal insulation layer and the walls. As a heater only mineral plates with a density of about 100kg / m3 are used. On the wall are mounted special dowels with hooks on which the plates are placed. Then they are fixed with a steel mesh and fasteners. The protective mesh fulfills the function of protecting the coating from thermal deformation. At the last stage, the plastering of the walls with a common layer of about 20-30 mm is carried out.
