How it works
The principle of the electric heater is quite simple. When the fan is operating, the blades are created with a flow of air that passes through the heating element, comes out from the back side and spreads in the exposed direction.

Basic classification
A variety of household electric fan heaters is small. In general, the differences can be in terms of power, design features, type of heating element and functionality. Let us consider all the existing differences.
By the power of
Any group of electrical devices necessarily has differences in power parameters, whether it be household appliances, power tools or even a heater. In our case, the products can have a power from 0.4 kW to 5 kW.The maximum characteristic is conditional, becausethere is no clear distinction between fans and heat guns. But still 5 kW is already a cannon. For the house it is customary to use units up to 2.5 kW, which is quite enough for the local heating of the room.
By type of heating element
There are household electric fan heaters with a spiral, a heating element and a ceramic heating element. The first option is cheaper, and therefore less reliable. Heating of air is carried out by flowing through a spiral heated to several hundred degrees. As a result, not only fine dust but also oxygen is burned. The result is the likelihood of a headache and an unpleasant smell in the room. Another important drawback is the fire hazard of the device. If the case is accidentally overturned, the helix may overheat and further ignition of nearby objects.
The second option is a small upgrade of the heater with a spiral. The advantage of the TEN construction is its extended service life and high fire safety. 
The third option has a lot of advantages, and, accordingly, a higher cost. In this case, heating is carried out using ceramic plates, the temperature of which is much lower. As a result, neither air nor dust burns, which makes staying in the room comfortable. Also it should be noted that ceramic fan heaters are almost noiseless, have a longer service life and, moreover, will not cause a fire.
By the way of fastening
To date, there are wall, floor and desktop( also called portable) devices.
Wall-mounted domestic fan heaters, which work from the mains, have a similarity to air conditioners.their shape is the same horizontal. The main advantage is that the heater does not get underfoot and at the same time can complement the interior of the rooms. Mounting is carried out on the brackets that come with the kit. 
The floor-mounted domestic fan heater has a high power, but takes up space, which is a minus in a small room. Most often, the heater is installed on a swivel base( as in the photo below), legs or wheels. The latter way is more convenient for moving around the room. 
Desktop electric heaters have proven to be convenient, cheap and very mobile products. Of course, they have less power, but at the same time compact dimensions allow them to be carried with them or stored on a shelf. Among the auxiliary functions by which electric household heaters can differ, it is necessary to distinguish:
- the presence of an automatic power-off sensor when it is overturned or overheated( responsible for the fire safety of the product);
- presence of the on / off timer( very convenient function, allowing to reduce power consumption);
- control by remote control( actual for wall and floor units);
- presence of the LCD display on the case( as a rule, it is present on modern models that have an electronic temperature controller);
- household electric fan heater with thermostat( this device allows you to set the optimum temperature in the rooms, which affects both comfort and energy saving);
- possibility of setting the operating mode. Here it is necessary to explain a little, sincein some models, the fan can only pump warm air( through the heating element), or it can be cold( with the heater turned off).

The cost of the
Depending on all the above characteristics, the cost of household electric fan heaters can vary from 600 to 12,000 rubles, although there are also such prices,as 46,000 rubles. In the latter case, it is more likely a thermal gun with a capacity of 30 kW, from a well-known manufacturer of Master Climate Solutions. For domestic needs, we recommend buying 2-3 kW heaters. Their cost, as a rule, does not exceed 4000 rubles.
