Preparing the wall

The first thing from the walls are removed old wallpaper. In order for them to be easily removed, it is better to water them with water. Further, the entire wall is peeled with a spatula, this allows you to remove the remains of paint and whitewash. The main task of the preparation process is to level the entire surface. Therefore, all the places where the plaster has fallen off, are treated with putty. For this purpose, the entire wall is carefully inspected and any, even the smallest irregularities, are eliminated with sandpaper.

Important! Smooth surface - this is the main guarantee of the quality of the adjoining plaster. If this work is not done well enough, then eventually the plaster will begin to crumble.

After the entire surface and corners are put in order, you can proceed to the next step. Before plastering the walls are treated with a primer to increase the strength of the future coating. At this stage, you should determine the texture, color and other nuances of the plaster.

Application technique

The method of applying decorative plaster will largely depend on the texture. Each type of plaster is applied in its own way - a roller or a spatula. The final result, first of all, depends on the method of working with the material. So, the decorative mixture, applied by the roller, always leaves a varied picture.

Specialists advise to work with plaster on dry and warm days. If the weather is rainy or high humidity, it is recommended to postpone the process to suitable weather conditions. Before work, there is no need to take any precautions, because the material does not provoke allergies, irritations and is perfectly washed off with plain water and soap.

When working, the roller for the textured plaster consumes about one kilogram per square meter of square. If the walls are well leveled, and the plaster is fine-grained, then the consumption becomes smaller. If the leveling process was performed poorly, then the flow rate can exceed one and a half kilograms per square meter.

Note! The plastering of the plaster should be carried out taking into account the fact that when it dries, its color will become a couple of tones darker.

Steps for laying the plaster

After all the preparatory work, it's time to apply the plaster directly. For this purpose, a roller for "Bark beetle" will be used, which will create a picture and speed up the work. The process takes place in the following order:

  • Before applying the composition, it must be tinted. After that, the decorative plaster is applied with a roller with a coarse or fine grain, depending on the type of surface.
  • "Rolls" sections of 1.5-2 meters. The plaster dries quickly, so it is necessary to work on the plots. The mixture is applied by any movements in any directions.

The joint between the different sections must be torn, otherwise( with an even joint) it will be clearly visible.

  • Then comes the plastic trowel. Movements are made from the top down. After that, the wall should dry completely.
  • After complete drying, a medium-length pile roller is used, and acrylic-based wax is applied. This is necessary to protect the layer and for a more saturated color.
  • After wax drying, polish it with a woolen cloth.
  • After two weeks, the wall can be washed without problems.
