Today, a wide range of building materials allows you to create hinged ceiling with your own hands without any problems, only the ability to use tools and a clear instruction are required. It should be noted that you can not cope with the installation alone - you need to take care of at least two assistants.

HAwn( another name - suspended) ceiling is an iron structure consisting of one or several levels, which is fixed to the ceiling and covered with plasterboard( if desired, spotlights are installed).
The frame usually consists of metal profiles UD or CD, interconnected by self-tapping screws, and fastening "crabs".To the ceiling, the frame is fastened with special suspensions( they are spring and straight).
Attention! The construction is covered with sheets of gypsum plasterboard with a thickness of 0.95 cm and dimensions of 60x120x150-250 cm( the last value is the length).Provided a competent installation, the ceiling weight will be 13 kg / m².
Now consider the installation technology.
Stage 1. Preparatory work for
Despite the fact that the suspended ceilings conceal the entire floor area, surface preparation still has to be done.
Step 1. The old finish is removed.
Step 2. The ceiling is inspected for cracks, dents and other defects.
Step 3. If everything is OK, the overlapping is primed and shpaklyuetsya. The result should be a smooth and smooth surface.
Step 2. Creating a project
To create a project, it is desirable to use one of the many architectural programs that allow you to get a ready-made scheme with an exact amount of consumables. But if you plan to do everything on paper, then the forces and time will have to spend much more.
Step 1. First the perimeter is defined - for this there is a special formula( for example, the size of the room is 5x3 m):
( 5 + 3) x2 = 16 m( R)
The resulting figure will also be the length of the guides. The results of calculations are transferred to millimeter paper.
Warning! If the length of the opposite walls is different( this is not uncommon), then a larger value should be taken as the basis.
Step 2. Next, the wireframe profile is calculated. For the frame, a profile of 2.7 x 6 cm will be used - it is fastened in 60 cm increments. The length of one profile should be equal to the width of the room. To calculate the number of strips, the width of the room( 300 cm) is divided by a step( 60 cm), it turns out to be 8.3( rounded to 8).
The first and last straps should be set 10 cm from the walls, the rest with the above step. By the way, the step length is not accidental, since standard gypsum boards have a width of 60 cm or 120 cm.
The location of the bars is indicated in the project.
Step 3. The number of suspensions that are fixed with the same pitch of 60 cm is determined. 300/60 x 8 = 40 pieces. The first and last of them are set 30 cm from the walls. The location of the hangers is indicated in the project by crosses.
Attention! In most cases it is recommended to use spring suspensions. The use of straight lines is acceptable if:
- the height of the hinged structure exceeds 12 cm;
- the surface of the ceiling is absolutely flat.
Step 4. Calculate the number of jumper strips( needed to increase the stiffness):
( (300/60) - 1) x 8 = 32 pieces
Step 5. Next, it only remains to calculate the amount of drywall and self-tapping screws. There is nothing complicated in this, because the total area of the room is already known( 15 m²), and the area of one sheet( determined by size) is 3 m².Therefore, in total, five sheets are required.
The calculation of the number of screws is divided into several stages.
- Products 6x60 are used for the ceiling( step - 60 cm) and walls( step - 30 cm).
- Self-tapping screws - "30" will be required to fix the drywall( step - 25 cm).
- The accessories are fixed with self-tapping screws LN-11, two pieces for profiles and hangers, four for profiles and "crabs".
After that, lighting devices are marked in the project, the number of wiring is determined.
Stage 3. Surface Markup
First, mark the ceiling overlap, which requires a marker and a tape measure.
Step 1. The height of the suspended ceiling is measured( the thickness of the drywall is not taken into account).On each wall, three or four marks are made, which are connected with the use of the paint thread in a solid line. In the future, a guiding profile will be installed along this line.
Step 2. Next, the ceiling is marked for suspensions and the main profile( 2.7 x 6 cm).From the walls indent is made to the distance indicated above, several markers are placed and the line is beaten( in the same way as in the previous paragraph).The procedure is repeated for all bars, that is, every 60 cm. The lines mark the points of attachment of the suspensions.
Stage 4. Installation of a skeleton of a false ceiling
For assembly of a skeleton it is required to prepare following materials:
- profiles( directing and for ceilings);
- dowels;
- self-tapping screws of all specified types;
- hangers;
- X-shaped brackets.
Step 1. A guide profile is installed along the perimeter. On the line made earlier, holes for dowels are drilled, similar ones are made in profiles. Then the dowels are driven into the holes and the profile is screwed.
Warning! It is advisable to use a screwdriver in the work, since you will have to screw in a lot of different screws. And this tool will greatly facilitate the work.
Step 2. The suspensions are then fixed. Each suspension is applied to the mark strictly in the center of the line, after which places for dowels are noted and holes are made. Then dowels are driven in and a suspension bracket is attached. A similar procedure is carried out for each of the forty suspensions.
Attention! To fix each element, you can use one or two screws. Everything depends on the desired strength of the structure.
Step 3. The skeleton is installed. In all suspensions, the antennae curl down so that a profile can enter between them. Profiles are built in and fixed with screws at the required height.
Step 4. After fixing the slats, the places for fixing the "crabs" are noted( roulette is required)."Crabs" are roped with antennae down over the slats and tightly pressed until they click into place.
Step 5. The profile jaws are cut from 2,7 x 6 cm. Initially, the whole profile is cut by the Bulgarian into parts so that each finished jumper is inserted between the guides closely.
Step 6. After the cutting, jumpers are mounted. Each jumper is inserted under the "crab" and presses against it so that it snaps into place. After installing all jumpers, they should be aligned in accordance with the chart.
Step 7. Profiles are connected to the "crabs" with four screws.
Stage 5. Insulation
If desired, the suspended ceiling can be insulated, which requires dense mineral wool and a special fixing system for it, known as "fungus".
Stage 6. Gypsum boarding
The cladding procedure is quite simple and does not need a detailed description. Gypsum boards are attached to the finished frame and screwed to the profiles using screws. It should be ensured that the edges of the material fit exactly on the profile.
Attention! For reliability, drywall can be fastened "uncontrolled", because of which some sheets have to be cut slightly. This is easy: on the one hand, the material is cut under the ruler, then the gypsum breaks, and after that the cardboard is cut from the back side.

Stage 7. Final finishing of a ceiling
After the installation, it remains only to make the final decoration.
Step 1. First all the joints between the sheets are carefully ground and leveled.
Step 2. After the putty has dried, a layer of finishing material is applied( for example, paints, plasters, etc.).
Step 3. Lighting devices are installed.

Features of operation
- To increase the operational life of the suspended ceilings, a timely surface cleaning is required. Cleaning can be dry( dust removal with a rag) and damp( using a sponge soaked in a diluted detergent water).
- Do not use any abrasive materials when cleaning ceilings.
- You can use a simple eraser to remove stains from a pencil.
- The space between the main floor and the structure must be well ventilated. Therefore, you need to leave a gap.
- To avoid a difference in temperature between the space inside the suspended ceiling and the rest of the room, the gypsum board panels should be removed immediately after installation. It will be necessary to install a vapor-proof layer. If there is a layer of thermal insulation on the back of the structure, a vapor-proof material is also necessary.
- The quality of the suspended ceiling depends on its moisture resistance. In rooms, the humidity level can range from 45ᵒ to 75ᵒ, therefore regular airing is required.
Conclusion
As it turned out, the installation of the suspended ceiling is quite simple and can be handled even by a person without experience in the construction craft. Only high-quality construction materials and a strict adherence to technology are required.
