Advantages and disadvantages of metal pipes

Stainless pipes speak for themselves. They have all of the above properties of "black" steel, but corrosion does not take them. Therefore, it is a durable and resistant version for plumbing pipes. They can withstand even boiling acids.
Copper pipes are characterized by good ductility, thermal conductivity, strength. Therefore, thin-walled pipes are made of copper. The disadvantage of copper products is their heavy weight and high cost of products.
Finally, aluminum has a low weight, anti-corrosion properties, low cost. Aluminum is also used as reinforcement in metal-plastic pipes.
Dimensions of metal pipes
Parameters of pipe rolled products, from whatever metal they are produced, are determined by the length, thickness of the walls, the outer diameter of the rolled metal. In addition, in the design calculations take into account such a parameter as the nominal diameter, which depends on the internal diameter. The numerical values of the parameters depend on the method of manufacturing the product and on the type of the structural material.

Dimensions of copper pipes
Rolled and welded copper products according to specifications have the following dimensions:
- external section along the face - 30-280 mm;
- outer diameter - 3 -360 mm;
- wall thickness - 0,8 - 10 mm;
- pipe length 1-10 m.
Dimensions of aluminum pipes
Aluminum pipe production can be folded and pressed. The folding method with crimping of joints is used for making a corrugated tube with a diameter of 80-310 mm. Pressed products are available in diameter 18-240 mm, wall thickness 1.5-40 mm, length 1-6 meters. Other parameters are determined by GOST 18482-79.
