If the appliance for electricity metering was installed on its own, the electric power officer will inspect and seal it. In case of replacement of the old meter by an electrician with a new one, a special act for sealing is drawn up, in which:

- work completion date;
- serial number of the dismounted counter;
- number of a new device for measuring spent power;
- readings on the old meter;
- current figures displayed on the scale of the new electricity meter.
The certificate of sealing is made in the amount of two copies, one of which remains with the responsible tenant. After the procedure for fixing the device, this document is transferred to the cash settlement department, where they register the readings of the new electricity meter and on which the payment for light will now be made.
