With its excellent design characteristics, aluminum radiators have become very popular in the market of heating equipment in a very short time.
The main positive moments of aluminum batteries are:
- Light weight, which makes it easy to mount and dismantle;
- Cost-effectiveness due to the reasonable cost of aluminum;
- Presence of thermostat;
- The highest heat transfer coefficient, unlike other materials;
- Aesthetic modern appearance:
- Ease of operation, because aluminum structures are very easy to clean without the use of special tools;
- The service is to paint the surface with heat-resistant paint, i.e.there is no need for regular staining;
- Ability to complement additional elements, for example, with thermostatic heads for regulating the supply of coolant;
- Lifetime - up to 20-25 years.
However, along with the positive moments, aluminum radiators still have their disadvantages:
- Small convection heat transfer;
- Unequal heat distribution, as the ribbed surface is always hotter than other parts;
- Because of the susceptibility to corrosion, it becomes necessary to treat the surface with special anti-corrosion agents.
Design features of aluminum batteries
The factory-made aluminum radiators are of two types:
- Conventional designed for operating pressures up to 6 atmospheres;
- Reinforced, withstands pressure in the system 16 atmospheres.
And, the first type is more suitable for installation in private houses with autonomous heating.
The technological process of making batteries is metal pressing. The result is a finished product - a section with a smooth inner surface covered with a protective film. The outer surface is painted with heat-resistant powder paints in an electrostatic field, so the color turns out to be very beautiful, since almost all the colors are used.
Number of sections in the finished product - from 3 to 15 pieces, although the standard is a set of 10 sections.
Since the heating medium in the heating system is water and aluminum is highly prone to corrosion, it is necessary to observe certain rules that affect the operation of the battery:
- The alkalinity of the water should be as low as possible;
- And acidity of a liquid - vary within the limits of 6-8;
- The internal surface of the radiator must be treated with a special polymer, which protects it from oxidation. Therefore, when buying a product, be sure to pay attention to its technical characteristics.
Basic installation instructions
Installation of aluminum batteries can be carried out according to the following schemes:
- Serial is used when connecting to central heating;
- Parallel is more appropriate, since in this case the sections are "strung" on common pipes, but always feasible.
Before starting work, it is necessary to coordinate your actions with the JEC and to cut off the central heat supply. The next step is the dismantling of old batteries and accessories. And only then you can start installing new radiators.
