Primer is necessary to protect against mold and fungus, and to achieve maximum adhesion of the surface with putty. Sometimes special antiseptic primers are used. Apply primer with a brush or roller. It depends on the convenience and condition of the surface. You can also use a primer or spray gun.
Putty mixes can be of two types: cement-based and gypsum-based.
Cement-based
Cement-based putty after drying becomes gray. Its main advantage over gypsum is that the viability of the solution is much higher. The main minus is the gray color, which emerges from under thin translucent wallpaper and paint layer. It is for this reason that cement plaster is rarely used.

Instruction for puttying of walls
For realization of puttying of concrete and panel walls with own hands two spatulas are required: narrow and wide. A narrow spatula we catch the putty, and then shift it to a wide. Gently spread the putty first on the spatula, and then on the wall. It is desirable to adhere to the horizontal direction. Appear excess surplus and pass through the layer with a clean spatula for leveling. Putty should be a thin layer, because as a thick layer can dry during drying. If there are irregularities on the wall, then do not forget to carefully rub the solution into them. To achieve a more smooth surface, before use, putty can be beaten with a drill with a nozzle "mixer".
Putty is the starting and finishing. First, it will be advisable to apply the starter layer and allow it to dry. The next day, if no flaws are found, you can add the finishing layer. If the defects still appear, it makes sense to use a special grinding mesh and sand the surface.
