Laying a laminate diagonally, as a rule, is very rarely used, and in fact this is a wonderful method for obtaining a visual expansion of the room volume and hiding the unevenness of the walls. It looks best in rooms that do not contain right angles. The classic installation of laminate in such rooms will show all the unevenness of the walls, which will negatively affect the appearance.

Calculating a laminate for laying diagonally
Many mistakenly believe that the consumption of a laminate when laying ondiagonal is uneconomical, has a lot of waste and will require pre-purchase of material with a huge margin. Correctly approaching the task, it is enough only to buy laminate in an amount that exceeds by 5-15% the area of the room.
Tool and preliminary operations
For this laying the same tools are used as for the classical one: a hacksaw, a tape measure, a bar, a ruler, a hammer, a pencil. Preliminary operations consist of trimming the solid foundation, cleaning it from dust, laying the substrate and placing the wedges.
Diagonal Laying Diagram
It should be understood that laying diagonally does not require an exact angle of 45 degrees, it can be from 30 to 45. To hide joints, the panels must be positioned so that the long seams coincide with the direction of the sun's rays fallingto cover.
The required clearance from the wall is 10 mm. Laying the laminate diagonally can start in two ways. The first involves laying the very first panel in the corner of the room, and then move from the window, in the direction of the door. In the second method, stretch the yarn between two corners and, orienting on it, mount the first row of the laminate.
It is necessary to measure the latest of the panels with high accuracy, while noting the cut line on both sides, do not forget to observe the required size for the gap. With the standard laying method, the cut piece is used for the next row. But for diagonal laying it would be necessary to cut off a huge piece in order to make a new angle. To save material, you simply put aside the cut piece for use in the opposite corner.
The most economical option is styling, which starts from the middle of the room and is directed to the left corner in relation to the falling rays of light. For a correct idea of the future layout of the panels in the room, the definitions with a pattern and understanding of the consumption of the material are recommended by experts to estimate on paper the scheme of laying the laminate diagonally.
To begin with, the panels are laid on the left side, after which, with the right, but surely the first line should be directed to the left corner. The castle laminate is immediately connected with the end locks, and then with the next row. Each row is arranged in a staggered order, while the size should be 30 cm between the end seams. In order to avoid bouncing panels, any of the edges of the row in the neighborhood is pressed down by the load.
At the final stage of laying, it is necessary to remove the spacer wedges. The luminaire that formed between the laminate and the wall is covered by installing a skirting board that is attached exclusively to the walls.
