Facing brick facades - for what it's worth it to start?

In addition to protecting the walls of the building from the harmful effects of the external environment, facing the facades with brick helps maintain the recommended temperature and humidity conditions in the room itself. This is very important for apartments, which are sealed double-glazed windows. To fulfill these conditions, the facade of the house must be bricked with a brick so that the gap between the wall of the building and the lining itself is not less than 3 cm.

Only in this case the gap will be ventilated by the airflow of sufficient force necessary to release surplus moisture into the atmosphere. The undoubted advantage, which gives the finishing of facades with brick, is the improvement of sound insulation. And if you place an additional minimal layer of soundproofing material in the gap between the wall and the lining, the effect will be excellent.

Facade bricks - choose the material for your house

For facing walls, facing brick facade( front or clinker) is used, presented in the Russian construction market with a wide range of colors and a variety of shapes. But avoiding the difficulties in the work, you can find a simpler way, instead of piece-by-brick use entire panels, but more on this below. Depending on the quality and cost, the clinker brick is divided into groups "elite", "standard" and "economy".

It is made from clay of special grades and is considered the most durable of industrial bricks. Its ability to repel water is remarkable, which is very important for facing material. Facing the facade - this is nothing like the laying of facade bricks on a common foundation bearing a wall. And the width of the foundation is calculated in such a way that it can simultaneously serve as a base for both the bearing wall and the facing wall with the necessary clearance.

Finishing of the facade for bricks - features of construction work

Facing the building facade can be carried out simultaneously with the erection of load-bearing walls, and possibly after the completion of their construction. In any case, the facing wall is reliably fixed to the load-bearing tab of a certain number of rigid connections. They can be made of fiberglass, basalt plastic or metal( a perforated strip of galvanized metal, spiral or stainless nails).

The use of basalt-plastic and fiberglass bonds attracts by the fact that they are resistant to corrosion and do not form "cold bridges".In addition, basalt plastic is also resistant to aggressive mortar for concrete masonry.

Basalt plastic joint is a 0.4 cm diameter rod with a sandy coating at both ends to ensure good adhesion to the solution. One of its ends is fixed in the vertical seam of the supporting wall, and the other - in the horizontal facing. The length of the rod should correspond to the total thickness of the vented gap and the depth of attachment in the walls.

When using a layer of heat-insulating material, its thickness is taken into account. By the way, the thickness of the thermal insulator should be taken into account when calculating the thickness of the foundation .For reliable fastening of the cladding to the load-bearing wall, at least 4 connections are used for 1 m2 of the area.

The above method of cladding is reliable and effective, but requires substantial investment and strict compliance with the technology - otherwise, the opposite effect is possible. However, there is a way of facing, in which the decoration of the facade for a brick can be performed with incomparably lower monetary and labor costs.

More recently, facade cladding panels for have appeared on our construction market, which can be mounted directly on load-bearing walls. The panel consists of polyurethane foam with glued tiles glued on it. With unsurpassed heat-insulating characteristics, the wall covered with such a panel does not externally differ from the facade clinker masonry.
