Assembling the frame for the rabbit cage
To enable adults and children to feed rabbits, will be on a special stand. In addition, an auxiliary shelf is produced, which will allow separate storage of feed and hay for animals.
Therefore, the contractor will need to prepare four beams( 85 cm high), which are the main supports.
8 screws( 4 in the central part and 4 at the top) are fastened to them, which will serve as fastening elements, bases for the shelf and the cage. When working, it is important to measure the evenness of the corners, to eliminate the distortions of the structure.
We turn to the instructions for the construction of the base, which will allow you to learn how to make a cage for rabbits with an additional compartment. The front board at the top is additionally cut out. Its trimmed part is attached to the place using a piano loop, as shown in the photo. It will provide easy access to the inner space of the cell.
To create a strong support, it is required to fasten wide racks( both in the center and from the top) between the beams( on the inside of the structure).
On wood boards selected for laying, corners are cut out, allowing them to be firmly attached to the previously affixed rails. At this stage, the frame will be completely ready.
Assembling the main compartment of a cell
The qualitative manufacture of cells for rabbits allows for the creation of a sturdy construction that will have an attractive appearance. The assembly of the curly cell starts from the front. It will help to understand the features of its manufacturing step-by-step instruction:
1. The door is assembled: the skeletons of the frame into which it will be installed are connected.
The seam is cut through which the door will be moved up / down.
The frame of the door itself is made. It is about half the large frame, complemented by dowels on the sides. It is wound up with dowels into the previously cut grooves on the main frame.
2. The side sections of the front part are screwed. The lateral and posterior cell walls are produced.
3. At an angle, the roof rails are cut off( 8 units).
Every two parts of the pointed corner are clamped together. Then they are fixed with self-tapping screws, the bracket is removed. Screw to the roof according to the basic drawing.
4. Small sheets of plywood are prepared that will close the transition from the roof to the door. They are screwed to the mini-rafters using self-tapping screws, as shown in the attached diagram.
5. The roof is being built: it is made of plywood sheets of the same size, at an angle corresponding to the joint angle of the mini rafters. From the back, you should saw off a piece of sheet and install a piano loop between the main and sawn part. It will help to easily access the animals and clean the cage.
In the front part there are two notches, allowing to shorten the central strip and install it on the ledge above the door.
After the completion of these works, the boards are painted. The resulted building of a cage for rabbits is rather difficult, therefore to conduct work it is necessary with use of modern tools. Additionally it is recommended to study useful video lessons.
Sheathing of walls, roofs
On the inside of the wall and the door are meshed.
The end walls for the upper part, the front wall above the door, are installed.
To the top of the support frame, two handles are screwed on each side, making it easier to carry the structure.
The front plate with the folding part is complemented by a bolt.
Another bolt is mounted on the door and its frame.
On the front wall above the roof is glued a sawn plywood and a pre-painted rabbit.
A universal tape on the roof of the piano hinges on the roof, which protects the metal from moisture.
Bitumen shingles are attached to the roof itself.
A small piece of bitumen shingles( using a special glue) is attached to the skate.
One of the sidewalls is closed with plexiglas with a small hole. It will protect animals from rain and strong blowing of the cell. The upper part of plexiglas is mounted with a bolt.
A small house and stairs for rabbits are assembled. All products are painted and installed in a cage.
The contractor can only move it to the garden, prepare food, hay and populate the animals.
