Consideration of building materials should be qualitative and rational. It is necessary to adhere to the opinion of the non-standard room - its special location, and remember the walls and ramps, often part of the roof slopes.

It is necessary to be guided when selecting materials with the basic requirements:

  1. Waterproofing
  2. High strength
  3. Resistance to temperature differences
  4. Reliability

The preparatory stage before finishing is the completion of all processes involving the use of liquid based products. After this, the noise and heat insulation layer should be laid.

The first two options are waterproof and have a hydrostop.

The above options allow you to achieve a smooth, without rough edges, the surface of the attic walls. Consider a couple of the most common and popular options.

Interior finishing of the attic with drywall sheets

Following the procedure:

  1. Selection and purchase of sheets. Gypsum boards are produced in different color shades, quality, have their characteristics. The decoration of the attics implies the choice of moisture resistant sheets with a thickness of 1.25 centimeters( a thickness with a large index is also allowed).
  2. Prepare metal profiles( aluminum) or steel crate-frame. Mount them on the suspension with a convenient fastening system.
  3. Gypsum boards are screwed to the profiles with screws.

  1. The gap between the plasterboard and the profile, the frame is filled with a heater. In this case, mineral wool.

It is important to note: using the above profile helps to reduce the ceiling height.

When finishing the attic, use certain screws. Between the sheets are recommended to leave gaps in half a centimeter. Places of screws should be filled with acrylic. This process can be done and with the gaps between the sheets of drywall.

After assembling the drywall, the attic walls are leveled( mashed).They can be painted or wallpaper glued.

The choice of finishing the attic at the cottage in favor of the wooden lining

Wooden lining - environmentally friendly and easy to handle. It is often used in dacha buildings. Finishing is a kind of natural wood. We use a lining of various types of wood. The only downside - before use, wooden slats should be carefully processed, adding extra processes of finishing the attic. It is covered with protective varnish, paint( depending on preferences).Fastening of the lining is done on the previously designed plywood sheets.

Propose to follow the instructions:

  1. Purchase of the necessary material. It is recommended to use wood of the following types:
  • fir;
  • spruce;
  • ash;
  • maple.

2. Choose boards an average of 10 centimeters thick, and the width should be around 15 centimeters. The boards are joined thanks to the groove and tongue technology.

3. The walls are covered with slats with a cross section of an average of 0.3 centimeters. This will be the frame. The sheathing is done by nails, the span of the rails is directly proportional to the parameters of the wooden lining. On the slopes of the roof gaps - within half a meter.

4. Every half a meter of the frame must contain vent holes.

5. Wooden lining is installed on the frame of the attic by staples. You can use nails. Drive them into the comb.

6. If the wood has not been processed before installation, then it is already necessary to cover the walls of the attic on the cottage with protective means against drying and damages:

- Oil;

- Moril;

- Lac.
