What is the difference from other options?
A kitchen apron made of glass is the most common after the aprons of ceramic tiles. It can be made as one whole panel, and several panels, which means that on the surface either there are no joints at all, or there will be a small number of them.
Thus, problems with the grime, as it happens with ceramic aprons, can be avoided. Smooth surface is easy to clean. Conventional glass can be used provided that its thickness is not less than 6 mm. Apron is made mainly to order. Hardened variety is not subject to mechanical treatment, this moment must be taken into account immediately.

We create an apron with our own hands
Before you make an apron of glass with your own hands, you need to measure the wall on which it will be located. To work without problems, the walls and corners must be perfectly even, and all measurements and installation of the apron must be done only after the kitchen furniture is installed.
If the wall is very long, it will be advisable to divide the future apron into several panels. Measurements should be very accurate, because according to their results it will be necessary to order or cut out the panel. Next, you need to mark out the holes for glass holders, sockets and switches. The center of the fastener hole should be located 5 cm from the edges. After all the measurements, you can order glass.
Drawing on plain paper should not be inserted behind an apron of tempered glass, because when heated, condensation accumulates, the paper warps, and the pattern shows the stains. You can order printing on a self-adhesive film with an adhesive backing.
For gluing the film to the apron, it must be placed on a horizontal surface, washed with a degreasing agent and thoroughly wiped. Then, using a sprayer, a water-soap solution is applied to the surface. Then the pattern is peeled from the substrate and is located on the glass, and with the help of a squeegee, water is expelled from under it. After drying in the film, you need to cut out the holes for the fasteners.
Next sections of the apron are applied to the wall, and through the holes on the wall marks are placed under the holders. After installing the fasteners, you should put on them sections and tighten the hats, and on the bottom edge of the work surface, screw the kitchen skirting to the table top. The tempered glass apron is ready.
