Making Sunbeds for your own dacha

Sunbeds at the cottage with their own hands

Deck chairs at the cottage with their own hands

The best rest is in nature, the Japanese knowingly love to come to nature reserves and nature parks and sit for a long time on a bench, watching the clouds running, the trees are swaying. It calms the nervous system. If you have your own dacha, you can rest on the example of the Japanese, contemplating the surrounding nature. Since the bench is not as comfortable as, for example, a chaise longue, the house craftsmen will be able to make it themselves. This is a fairly simple design. Chaise lounges refer to armchairs, but lower and more stable. In them, you can be in a reclining position, which allows you to relax all muscle groups and spine. A simple chaise lounge can be folded, transformed depending on the angle of the backrest. Since the tree is considered one of the most environmentally friendly, economical and easy to use materials, our chaise lounge will be made of wood. In the summer, this deckchair can be left outdoors, in the winter - to keep in the country house. Modern chaise lounges are made from:

  1. wood
  2. plastic
  3. rattan

in the form of folding beach beds or comfortable seats. The technology of making a deckchair-lounger requires the use of various tools, so we will consider a simpler version.

chaise lounge. The

chaise longue scheme. The chaise chair presented in the scheme A can be made by everyone, since the main job is to create a strong frame and stretch tight damp cloth on it. Scheme B is a folded chaise longue, consisting of three frames: long( 1), short( 2), closed( 3).Fabric is filled with two square bars, which have rounded edges. A house worker can assemble frames using a round spike and glue. Thorns on the bars can be cut and processed with a rasp, and the nests can be drilled. We prepare the share bars according to the dimensions shown in the scheme B. Do not forget that the cross bars should be made considering the width of the second frame, that is, 500 mm and considering the cross section -( 25-60 mm) of the bars. The bars for stretching the fabric with a square section of -16? 16 mm. All transverse bars should have spikes with a diameter of 12 mm and a length of 22 mm. For rectangular bars there are two tenons per connection, and for square ones - one. Be careful with drilling stud nests.

We process the wooden bars

Once the bars are prepared for assembly, it's time to process them for strength and give aesthetic appearance. For a long time the tree has been treated with a stain, which is also called Beitz. Stain helps to maintain the external properties of the tree, which is exposed to ultraviolet light. Buying a stain for processing a chaise longue that will stand in your street, choose the outdoor. To cover bars with stain can be in two ways-either by spraying or brushing. For professional results, it is best to use a nebulizer. The most safe dyes are water-soluble stains and those that are made on the basis of waxes and oils. By the way, about oil. There are excellent parquet oils, which in principle can be used for any wooden products. They are necessary in order to give the wood water repellent properties. This is useful for those occasions when your chaise longue will accidentally turn up in the rain.

Technology for assembling the bars for the future chaise longue

We proceed directly to the technology of assembling the bars. It's pretty simple. Both the first and second frames are assembled using two shared and two transverse bars, and a bar with a square section is also used. The gap between the square and rectangular pieces should not be more than 10 mm. The third frame is assembled from a transverse and two shared bars. Having made the framework, you can move on. Having settled on the shelf, put the second frame in the first. The bars with a square section must be on opposite sides of each other. Trace it on the diagram B. Align the holes under the axles, thread the bolts( preferably 8-10 mm), then the washers and tighten the connections using nuts. The third frame should cover the first one - see Diagram B. Once the fastening operation has been carried out, the chaise-lounger is laid out in the way it will be used, that is, in the working state. For a chaise longue, it is best to choose a water-repellent fabric, or a strong mattress with three-thread weave, polyester synthetic additives, with a bright pattern. To cut a fabric it is necessary taking into account convenience of sitting, on the ends of a material make the closed contour in diameter of 25 mm. It is necessary in order to pass a square bar into it, fixing it in each of the frames. The fabric should be put into the solution between the seat and the back. Now our deck chair, made by ourselves, is completely ready and can be used at the cottage.
