How is oak represented in our markets?

Literally every day in the building market there are more and more types of parquet and parquet boards from foreign wood. And we, the buyers, can only be surprised at the names, unusual appearance and texture, and most importantly - the prices for floors from these exotic trees.

And involuntarily, the look returns to the long-proven products for the strength and durability of traditional tree species. And even the price of oak floors, which until recently seemed so high, after comparison with exoticism does not cause such a negative. Especially because oak timber does not need to confirm its high performance properties, and exotic tree species do not deserve such flattering ratings yet.

The edged sawn timber includes edged and unedged boards, beams, mounting rails, etc. At all stages of the lumber preparation process, the wood is inspected for damage in the form of cracks, signs of damage to insects, fungi and mold.

After gentle drying, which allows avoiding warping, as well as cracking of oak lumber, the edged board is used for making windows, doors, parquet, stairs and other home decor elements. Products made from a properly selected, processed and dried board, will serve not one generation of owners.

Massive parquet board - what is it?

One of the most common types of parquet - massive board - is manufactured from edging boards. This type of set parquet differs in size: the length is up to 2.5 m and the width is 15 cm. An important condition for this type is the width: if the usual parquet is about 15 mm, then the board of the oak array can boast of 20-22 mm,which allows it to serve much longer than usual parquet.

At once there is a question, and than then this board differs from a usual sexual board? The difference is in the presence of a locking system such as a comb-groove, which allows you to densely join a massive board. Correctly packed massive board with competent care allows you to forget about replacing the floor for the next hundred years.

Unfortunately, the lack of this board is directly related to its dignity - it's a big size. There is not always the possibility of high-quality laying of this board without significant pruning.

Among other things, the temperature in the room with the parquet laid and the humidity of the air are very important. To prevent the parquet floor from drying, you can buy an air humidifier that will be useful for the health of the owners. As for excessive humidity, the recommendation is only one - in such premises it is better not to lay parquet.

Another disadvantage of this material is the high price, but, on the other hand, if buying this board allows a century to not perestilat the floor, then maybe it's not so expensive? !

Correct laying of a massive board

Of course, it's better to lay this expensive stuff like a massive board, to entrust to professionals, and then your grandchildren will run along it, but if you decide to do it yourself, then you will need: tape measure, pencil, level, joinergon, hammer, spatula. And also power tools: a circular saw, a screwdriver, a grinder.

Laying a massive board is done only in a rigid way , so the base must be perfectly prepared. The floor is pre-leveled with special solutions, or a concrete screed is made, which should dry out perfectly. This is a fairly long, but extremely necessary process, becausefor a wooden coating, even an insignificant amount of moisture is fatal.

Drying may take up to 15 days. After that on the prepared floor vrazbezhku sheets of moisture-resistant plywood are kept with preservation between them of small gaps. Each sheet of plywood is fixed by screws on a diagonal and along the perimeter. All laid plywood must be sanded using a grinder, then vacuumed the base.

The laying of a massive board starts from the wall, a technological gap of about 5-7 mm is left between it and the edge of the board. A massive board is laid in the same way as a laminate. If there is a need, the last board is cut.

It is advisable to make the laying of 7-8 rows of boards without glue. After installation, such a floor is not subject to adjustment. After this, each row should be marked with a pencil and all the boards are dismantled.

For gluing this material to the plywood, it is necessary to use only anhydrous two-component adhesive.glue on a water basis is capable of causing deformation of the floor. For uniform application of glue, first take a normal spatula, and then a denticle.

Spread the adhesive in a thin layer, then lay a massive oak board, beat it with a hammer and a special workpiece. Do not forget to check the ranks level. To fix the boards as durable as possible, they can be screwed to the plywood with small screws through the crest of the fastening system, at an angle of about 50 °.Similarly laid out and the rest of the floor.
