In the first case, this is done by using an aluminum or plastic substrate with an integrated cable channel .In this case, we perform the following actions.
- Attach the substrate to the surface of the wall with dowels-nails( for concrete) or self-tapping screws( for silicate blocks, gypsum board, wood), 30-40 cm, and with a curved surface and more often.
- Carefully lay the cable, then snap the cable cover( in case of mounting with a plastic backing).
- Next, just in size, cut out the outer cover of the plinth made of aluminum, paying attention to the fact that when using the outer and inner corners, the lid for them should go 5-6 mm, and under the dowels 2-3 mm.
- Then, delicately winding under the corners and joining bars, apply the aluminum cover to the substrate along the entire length, lightly pressing it with your fingers until a characteristic click.
Special features of mounting in other ways
The second method is using aluminum clips .The latter are attached to the surface of the wall with self-tapping screws or dowel nails after 30 cm. After cutting off the outer cover, we put a cable in it and dowel it in series to the fastening clips. It should be noted that this method is less reliable and more complex in execution than the first one.
It is also possible to carry out installation with adhesive or adhesive tape. Refers to thin non-composite plinths without a cable channel. In the case where such a skirting board is made with an adhesive tape, then for its installation it is necessary to simply tear off the protective film and press it against the wall.
If it is made without adhesive tape, then we first apply two tracks of quick-drying mounting glue 3-5 mm wide at the distance of 1 cm from the top and bottom edges of the plinth to the inner surface.
Then press the plinth against the wall with a long rule to ensure a tight fit of the plinth along the entire length, and hold it slightly in this position until the glue sets.
Aluminum kitchen skirting board is fixed absolutely the same as the floor, except that the table top under the bottom of the skirting base to ensure tightness must be treated with a silicone compound.
