Laying of a massive board:
preparatory process Before starting to lay this coating, it is necessary to perform a number of preparatory works. First, the board must go through a kind of "acclimatization".This means that within three days she should be in the room, so to speak, "get used to" him.
In addition, the humidity of the screed before application should be no more than 12%, and air about 60%.Secondly, it is worth considering that it is in no case possible to apply this coating to the warm floor. This is justified by the fact that when the base is heated, the moisture evaporates constantly. As a result, the parquet board is deformed, and it will be impossible to change it already. It is necessary to completely change the material.
More detailed conditions are prescribed in existing SNiPs 3.04.01-87, 3-4-80.According to the requirements of this document: the installation of a massive board in the building is carried out at the last stage of the repair work.
Technology of laying a massive board
Depending on the design of the room, the following ways of laying a massive board are distinguished: on a wooden cover;on concrete slabs on plywood or lag;on load-bearing wooden structures. Let us consider in more detail each of them.
- Laying a massive board with your own hands on the existing wooden covering. In this method, it is important to be sure that the existing floor surface will withstand the additional load from the parquet. If there is no such guarantee, it is better to remove the previous coverage. But, when there is no fear, the installation begins. First, a grinding machine and an abrasive belt are used for rough grinding of the base. Further, if necessary, make a moisture barrier. Afterwards, the massive plank is laid in the same direction, in which the old covering( in cross-section or diagonal) was applied.
- Laying a massive board on plywood or logs, that is, on concrete slabs. To begin with, install logs or plywood for later decking of parquet. If the first version of is supposed, then mount them with dowels or screws to the concrete floor. Between the lags should be a distance of about 25-30 cm, and they are placed in a perpendicular direction to the future coating. Then leveling is done. At a distance between them put a heater. After the waterproofing is carried out. Most often, a foamed polyethylene film is used for this. And only then put a massive board. If you need a second option - installation on plywood ( it is better to use moisture-proof), then use sheets with the size of 1220 * 2440 or 1500 * 1500 mm. They are cut into strips with a width of about 40-60 cm. Lay them in a diagonal direction to the future coating. They are fastened with screws and dowels to the concrete floor.
- Laying on wooden supporting structures is used in those cases when the base for a massive board is a board flooring, plywood. To begin with, lags are installed, which are aligned according to the rule. Next, a moisture-proof film is attached to them and a plywood is installed in the same direction in which a massive board will be fixed. Attach it with screws, the heads of which need a little "drown" in the base. The next stage requires rough grinding with a special apparatus and abrasive tape. Only then proceed to fix the most parquet cover.
Technique for fastening a massive board
After you have decided on the basis for the installation, the question is - how to lay a massive board on this surface? Use the self-tapping screws in steps of 20-30 cm. Only before that, it is drilled from the side where the spike is located. Planks in the longitudinal and transverse directions are densely joined. This is especially easy if you use a massive board with a lock connection.
The first row is laid with a groove to the wall. Mount them with self-tapping screws, which are inserted at the edge of the slats in such a way that they will not be visible under the skirting boards. The last row is set exactly the same. In the event that a massive board has a width of more than 150 mm, then an additional fastening is provided through its upper part. The distance between the entire surface and the walls should be 7-10 mm. At the last stage, skirting boards are mounted.
