Finishing the balcony with lining is not the cheapest way to cover the surface of this room, however, one of the most beautiful, environmentally friendly and warm.
If you want to make the insulation and paneling of the loggia yourself, then you need to take into account a lot of nuances: determine the type of material, properly prepare the walls, as well as conduct all stages of work in accordance with the instruction.
In addition to lining, it is possible to cover the walls with PVC panels.
In some cases this is even better, for example, if the area of the room is quite large, becausethis material is much cheaper.
Whichever version of the skin you choose, the photos and videos shown in the article will help you.
With the help of these, as well as instructions, you will be able to make the finishing of the loggia by the lining indistinguishable from the professional work.

Selection of material
When choosing a lining, two main factors need to be considered: the type of wood and its class.
Many types of trees are suitable for interior decoration, including loggias and balconies: you can use ash or oak, cedar, pine, alder and other species.
Most expensive to you will cost a lining of oak and cedar, and the cheapest will be made of pine.
Do not think that inexpensive pine planking with your own hands will look unattractive: if the processing of the material was correct and when it was manufactured, all technologies were observed, then its external and internal properties will meet all standards.
You can see the appearance of the paneling with wooden lining from different types of wood, you can see in the photo.

Classes are divided according to the classes in the classes as follows: you can find the material with Premium, A, B and C.
Premium( sometimes called Extra) is the highest class, and this type of board will be of the highest quality among all the others. It has a uniform surface, no cracks and knots.
The only negative - the price, because.she is on this lining is the highest. A class "A" class is also quite presentable, but it will have several knots for every 1500 m of boards.
Class "B" will differ from the previous two even externally( you can compare them by photo). This lining often contains cracks, resin pockets and irregularities.
Finally, the finish of class "C" is suitable only for technical rooms, it has a heterogeneous surface, a lot of knots, through holes and other damages.
The first two classes of material are suitable for lining the loggia, and if after finishing you plan to cover the wall with paint, then you can also consider a "B" class.
In addition to lining, the walls of the loggia can be lined with plastic PVC panels. Unlike paneling, panels are produced in the same way and they do not need special processing during production.

This material looks less attractive, but it has its advantages: it will cost you less than a lining, and the service life is not inferior to it, this material keeps the heat well, and therefore it is possible to turn the loggia into an additional dwelling.
Finishing of balconies and loggias with lining and pvc panels can be made only on the prepared surface, therefore, after selecting the material, you need to prepare the walls for the coating.
With preparation, as well as with other stages of work, you will be able to cope with photos and videos with detailed step-by-step instructions.
Surface preparation
The first thing to do is remove the old coating from the wall surface, if it was, as well as the plaster.
After that, evaluate the surface of the walls - if there are cracks in them, then before they are sealed, expand them with a Bulgarian, after which you need to treat them with a special solution.
Walls and ceiling must be treated with a composition against the fungus - this will protect the wood from the decomposition and attacks of parasites and extend its life.
The next step after cleaning and treatment of walls is insulation. With him, you also quite manage yourself.
You can make the insulation of the loggia in two ways: a material with a foil base( insulating foam, foam foam, etc.) and mineral wool or styrofoam.
On what type of insulation you choose, the type of crate depends which you will need to install.
The insulation of the loggia under the PVC panels is made in the same way - with a mineral wool, an insulator and other suitable materials, so it is not worthwhile to paint the process for this material separately.
In the first case, the insulation is first carried out, and after laying the material, a lath is mounted on top of it.
In the second case, on the contrary - first you need to install the crate, and then put the insulation in the resulting cells.
The first method is simpler, and you will be able to repeat it yourself for photos and videos, and the second needs more detailed instructions.
Stacking of insulation and installation of lining
To create a lath you will need a wooden beam measuring 40x40 / 50x50 mm. Or metal profile( but it costs more).
If the lining of the loggia is horizontal or diagonal, the crate must be installed vertically, and horizontal plating is required to make the vertical plating.
The first stage of the equipment of the roofing for insulation will be the installation of corner posts. To do this, align the vertical beams and attach them to the wall with anchor bolts.
After their qualitative fixation, the posts should be connected to the longitudinal bars, which need to be installed no closer than half a meter from each other.
Use the following scheme for installing the beams: the first is mounted at the level of the knees, the second - at the level of the hips, the third - at the shoulder level. How it looks, look at the photo.
With this setting, the crate will be in places that are subjected to the greatest pressure, and will be more durable.
This is especially important if the loggia is finished with plastic panels.they are more fragile, however, this method will give special strength to wooden lining.
After the installation of the battens, the insulation must be directly insulated: the selected material is placed in the cells obtained after joining the beams and racks.
It is necessary to fix the insulation with the help of glue-foam and cover it from above with a foil for vapor barrier insulation to protect the material from moisture ingress.

If you have not done wall warming before, then look how it's done in photos and videos before you get to work.
After the insulation is finished, the finishing procedure begins. The installation of lining on the walls is a fairly simple procedure, however, to study the instruction on the photo will not be superfluous.
The wall covering starts from any corner of the loggia. The panels of the lining must be installed clearly vertically, checking each cloth with a level.
After you have installed the first panel and checked the level, how exactly it costs, you need to tightly connect it with the bars of the crate.
Do this either using nails, installed in the groove, or a clay. Choosing a nail fixation, there is a risk that locks will get hurt, especially if you do this for the first time with your own hands.
The following panel is attached to the installed panel of the lining, the correctness of its position by means of a level is checked and then it is fixed. In this way, the whole skin is produced.
The final stage of the work - you need to cover the corners with special pads, and also install the platbands and window sills.
Installation of PVC panels is not much more difficult. For proper installation, you need to make a wooden frame to fix the structure, which is installed similarly to the crate for a wooden lining.
After its creation, fasten the PVC panels is simple enough - use a construction stapler and 10 mm staples for this.
The first thing to do is set the start profiles for the entire perimeter of the frame and the corners of the structure.
In addition to the stapler, it is possible to fasten PVC panels with self-tapping screws and screwdrivers. To work with their own hands, even a conventional screwdriver can be used, but in this case the process takes a lot of time.
More detailed instructions for installing PVC panels you can see on the video and photos.
Each sheathed wall needs painting. You can cover the walls with a protective varnish, or if you have chosen a "B" -type, you need to paint it with paint to improve the appearance.
You can paint it and just varnish - then the material will gleam, but it's better to cover such a lining with natural paint under the tree to emphasize the brightness of the wood.

The paint is applied with a roller or a wide brush, and after drying it can be coated with a varnish to protect and gloss the surface.
If the paneling was made with PVC panels, then they do not need to be painted, and they do not need any additional processing.
As you can see, the cladding by lining or PVC panels is quite simple to do it yourself.
The main thing is to properly process and heat the surface, as well as to produce a quality installation.
If you do everything yourself, then it is better to use photos and videos at each stage of the work - then you will get a warm, cozy and beautiful loggia that will not need repair for another year.
