Floor covering is one of the most important elements of the interior. It carries not only an aesthetic load, but also on the condition of competent execution creates a cozy atmosphere in the room. The most common variant of the coating is a natural tree, more precisely a wooden parquet. It( parquet) can be installed in almost any room, except for the kitchen and bathroom.

takes a lot of effort and time, but forthe floor covered with such material, differs durability and attractive appearance.

Warning! Parquet can be stacked according to the classical technology( strips), and a more modern method - plait, herringbone or Dutch.

Basic types of parquet

The choice of this or that technology largely depends on the type of parquet. There are several such species today.

  1. The most popular is the piece parquet . It consists of a large number of laths made of hardwood and connected by means of special elements - grooves and spikes. The dimensions of the panels are approximately the following: 2.2x7.5x50 cm. Such a parquet can be stacked in several ways( about them in the next paragraph).

  2. Laminated products is a modern analog of natural materials, which can also be laid in a variety of ways. Therefore, it costs less.

  3. Massive parquet , which is also called parquet board , differs from the natural only in dimensions - 1,5x8x50 cm. The material is quite expensive, because it is used for making solid wood.

The most popular piece is parquet, so the article considers its laying. It is worth remembering that the more complicated the styling, the more time it takes and, consequently, the more expensive it will cost.

Laying methods

The choice of this or that method of laying the parquet depends on the type of surface on which the installation will be performed. There are several such ways:

  • on a concrete screed;
  • for logs;
  • on the rough floor.

Consider each of them.

The following tools are required for work( regardless of the type of coating):

  • hammer;
  • nails;
  • marker;
  • measuring tape;
  • saw;
  • electric jigsaw;
  • wedges;
  • drill;
  • grinding machine.

Step 1. The moisture content of the surface is measured with an electronic moisture meter( maximum reading is 2%).

Using an electronic moisture meter, the moisture content of the

is measured. Step 2. The surface is primed with a special glue for parquet - plywood will be laid on this primer. The glue must be suitable for a particular type of primer. It is recommended to use rubber glue, because it is used most often.

Attention! The primer layer requires a minimum of eight hours to dry. Further work can only be carried out after this period.

Step 3. If the humidity level exceeds 2%, a hydro-barrier( a special moisture-repellent primer applied in two layers with an hourly interval between them) is applied. The first layer of the barrier is sprinkled with quartz sand.

Step 4. We take sheets of moisture-resistant plywood with a thickness of 1-1.8 cm, each of them is sawn into four equal parts. It is important that when laying plywood, there is a seam of about 5 mm.

Attention! The horizontal nature of the plywood coating is checked by level. If it is uneven, then when stacking, there will be a difference.

Step 5. Next comes the parquet itself. The plywood is covered with glue with a spatula. The wooden element is tightly fixed with an assembly gun, nailing the material with nails.

Step 6. The laying procedure ends with puttying and surface cycling. This can be done no earlier than a week after the completion of work.

Initially, a cycle is made( using a special grinding machine), during which the surface is leveled and all the impurities remaining after installation are removed. Further shpaklyuyutsya cracks formed after the thermal deformation of wooden elements.

Warning! The whole surface of the coating is covered.

To match the color of the putty with the color of the parquet, a special liquid is mixed with wood dust.

Step 7. After drying the putty, it remains to perform the final processing - varnishing. Initially, the room is shielded from drafts, all electrical appliances that can affect the humidity level are turned off. Parquet is varnished in several layers: the first - priming - is necessary for preserving the natural color of the material, the second - finishing - is applied only after the base layer has completely dried.

Methods of laying parquet

Ways for laying the parquet

Attention! Parquet can be used not only for decorative purposes, but also for hiding pipelines( see below).

Parquet installation on logs

Parquet installation on logs

Parquet flooring can be formed not only on a concrete screed, but also on logs. This method of laying has certain advantages, among which:

  • no excessive moisture in the room;
  • increased sound and thermal insulation properties due to the fact that the gaps between the lags can be filled with one or another insulator;
  • possibility of laying communications;
  • high speed of assembly work.

The stacking technology in this case practically does not differ from the one described above, except that the plywood is placed not on the screed, but on the logs.

Installation on the rough floor

This way of laying the parquet is the cheapest and easiest to perform in the first place because there is no need to create a concrete screed or install logs. But this method also has its own peculiarities and nuances, which one must necessarily know in order to obtain a qualitative result.

Laying parquet on the rough floor

Parquet laying on the rough floor

  1. The roughing floor is made of pile wood.
  2. It should not vibrate or make sounds during operation, that is, when walking.
  3. Its surface must be level( installation level to help).
  4. The boards must be securely fixed both vertically and horizontally.
  5. The surface of the floor should be covered with an antiseptic.

All described laying options should be carried out only after the completion of the repair work in the room. Must pass a minimum of a week after completion of the repair, which can affect the level of humidity. The humidity at work should not exceed 55-60%, and the temperature in the room - 20-24 ° C.

Attention! All described methods of laying were performed using mechanical fastening technology. But there are other technologies that you should also know about.

Floating floor technology

In this case, the glue is not used, therefore installation is carried out about twice as fast. In each bar on one side a groove is made, and on the other - a spike. A similar way of fixing is called a click-system."Floating floor" is very practical, in addition, in case of moving, the cover can be dismantled.

Attention! Sometimes on the parquet boards there are damages. When using "dry" technology, the damaged board can easily be replaced even without the help of a specialist.

glue This technology differs in that the grooves with spikes are glued together. The main thing you need to know about is that you can not buy glue on a water basis, otherwise the material will soon be deformed.

The adhesive must be applied over the entire length of each groove. If a diagonal installation has been selected, the work starts at an angle, and if it is longitudinal, then from the far wall relative to the entrance door.

Attention! Diagonal installation looks more aesthetically pleasing, but it involves a lot of costs( and therefore costs more) and difficulties in installation.

How to remove stains from the

parquet When using the coating later, stains may appear which can not be washed with a damp cloth. To remove such spots, special means are used, but there are also folk methods - more sparing and no less effective.

How to remove stains from a parquet

  1. A fresh stain of blood can be removed with a cloth impregnated with cold water. If the blood is withered, a small amount of ammonia is added to the water and then a rag is wetted.
  2. Black strips from shoes are easily removed with a nylon cloth - you just need to rub the surface a little.
  3. The wax stain is pre-frozen, then carefully peeled off with a plastic spatula. The rest of the wax is put soft material and ironed iron.
  4. Only special cleaning agents can be used to remove chewing gum or paint. It is important to familiarize yourself with the instruction in advance, as self-activity will lead to irreversible damage to the material.
