Tracks are a very important element of the architecture of any country site. They remind a person of the conveniences of civilization. After all, no one wants to wear rubber boots after the rain to walk around the garden. In addition, the tracks are an indispensable element of design on any site, thanks to which it looks well-groomed and civilized. There are many opportunities to create paths in the country with their own hands.

Which droshky is better: straight or curved

Any country plot can be assigned to one of two types: formal or landscape. In the first case, the tracks perform the function of symmetrical axes, and in the second they are still designed to visually lift plants and structures on the site. In any case, the pathways should divide the whole territory into certain zones and, at the same time, unite these sectors in harmony. If you want to create a truly natural landscape, then do not try to make the tracks absolutely straight. There are no straight lines in nature. However, strongly looping trails are also not optimal, since they make it difficult to get from one point of the site to another.

Direct alleys have become fashionable in Europe since the time of the Renaissance. All the palaces and parks then designed in a regular style, which involves geometrically correct lines. However, this style does not allow a person to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding areas, as he involuntarily looks at the end of the alley.

A landscape or curved style came to us from China and Japan. He emphasizes the depth of eastern wisdom and philosophy. The curved lines of the droshky have a complete immersion in nature, but on the site they should emphasize the features of the natural relief. When a person moves along such a path, he looks around more and sees all the beauty of surrounding plants. Particularly good curved paths in small areas of area, as visually increase the space, without splitting it into small parts. The main requirement to dacha tracks is that they should be convenient for movement and do not require special care.

Any track must be below the level of adjacent flower beds. This will not make it dirty after the rain, as any lawn perfectly absorbs moisture. In addition, if the middle of the trail is made slightly above the edges, it will dry quickly after the rain.

Variety of types of garden paths

There is a huge amount of materials from which you can lay out a garden path. Here are just some of the most popular:

  • Concrete.
  • Lined of stone or paving slabs.
  • Gravel.
  • From a stone lattice with gaps in turf.
  • Brick with the design of seams with lawn grass.
  • Wooden: from bark, boards or spits of trees.
  • Of plastic tiles.

Depending on the purpose and features of the landscape, the tracks are made to be resistant to the effects to varying degrees. So, on the slopes they should have a good foundation or a strong underlying layer. Cover them preferably with tiles or cobblestones.

The location of the track is very important. It is necessary first to use the site without tracks and notice where you go more. When driving along the path, there should not be a need to cut off your path. Only when you are absolutely sure of the directions - proceed to the final marking of the tracks.

In addition to the material, all the tracks differ also in their surroundings. Some are equipped with a curb, others do without it. If the terrain on the site is quite inclined with a large difference in altitude, it will be good to arrange a ladder along the path. It will allow organically to combine two levels.

Sometimes, to make the tracks more natural, they are specially expanded or narrowed. Along with the turns around the natural obstacles, this technique has perfectly taken root in landscape designers. It must also be understood that the tracks have different purposes. The main road on the site is often used for driving a vehicle. Therefore, its device is given more attention. Its width should be not less than 2.5 m. The rest of the garden paths can be from 50 to 100 cm wide.

What materials to choose for the construction of the track in the suburban area

When choosing a material for a country walkway, you need to take into account the overall style of the entire site. For regular style with straight lines is best suited: concrete, brick, sidewalk tile, asphalt, paving stone and rubble stone. Not bad in this case will look and the track from the processed natural stone. All the listed types of materials require thorough construction, as they will be used for a long time.

Do not use artificial materials when building paths in a landscape or landscape style. Tracks arranged on such a site should not stand out and be conspicuous. Their main task is to harmoniously fit into the overall design of the entire site. Therefore, materials such as gravel, sand, pebbles, natural stone, crushed stone, wood and wood bark will look best here. These materials, of course, are not as durable as artificial, but they have a unique natural charm.

Construction of a concrete path in the suburban area of the

This type of track is done in a fairly spacious area. For their construction requires the construction of a foundation. To do this, mark out the droshky and remove the turf and the upper layer of the soil, the depth of 35 - 40 cm. The bottom of the entire excavation is covered with coarse-grained sand and compacted. The sand layer should be about 5 cm. Then pour a layer of rubble, which is also rammed. Its thickness is 20 cm. A layer of fine gravel with a thickness of 5 cm is arranged on top of the rubble. In the course of all this, a curbstone is also installed, which is buried 30 to 40 cm deep and above the track by no more than 5 cm. It will sharpen the lines andstrictness of the whole path. After installing the curb and setting it, you can start pouring the solution. It is prepared from a mixture of cement and sand in the ratio of 1 part of cement grade M300 or M400 to 3 parts of fine-grained river or quarry sand. The concrete layer must be at least 5 cm.

The gray concrete road looks dull, so it can be decorated with colored pigments that are added directly to the solution. You can also make the cutting under the stone. Today, a large number of different forms are sold, in which concrete is poured. It turns out a concrete tile, cast directly in place. The gaps between the elements are covered with sand or planted with grass grass, which gives the path an even more natural look. Before using the concrete path for the intended purpose, wait at least 3 days for the solution to freeze properly.

Gravel path and its construction

Sometimes a good solution is a path from gravel or crushed stone. Its curb is made of paving stones, put on a rib or sod. Count the amount of material for it is difficult, so it is better to buy it for future use. Such paths are often built along lawns and flower beds.

For the device of a gravel path in the suburban area produce the necessary marking and dig a trench 15 cm deep in it. The bottom of the trench is carefully rammed and placed on it a large gravel mixed with clay. The thickness of the resulting layer should be about 12 cm. Then this layer is abundantly watered and allowed to soak in, then again rammed. On top of the resulting layer, another 5 cm is added to the smallest gravel, which is also rammed and poured.

The path obtained in this way is very convenient and perfectly combined with the landscape. It can always be adjusted if necessary. Apply and another way to build a gravel track. To do this, put in a trench and compact 5 cm of large gravel, which is poured a mixture of sand and clay 3 cm thick. The resulting pillow needs to be rammed and moistened. After shrinkage of this pillow, fine gravel is poured onto it with a layer 2 cm thick and watered again.

This gravel track can be reinforced along the edges with a curbstone. This will not allow gravel to dissolve over time. The stone can be laid either above the track, or on a level with its surface. If the construction of a curb is planned, then the width of the trench should be provided for 20 cm more. The depth is increased to 30 cm. The curbstone is placed on a foundation of concrete. Border also strengthened with cement mortar.

Construction of a garden path from tiles and pavers

This is quite an expensive way to create tracks in the suburban area. However, such objects have the most organic properties and durability. There is a very large number of different options for paving slabs and pavers, which is not necessary to choose the necessary for its design. The construction of such tracks involves the construction of an underlying layer of their sand. To do this, 20 cm of large gravel are piled into the trench, which is rammed. It is poured on a fine gravel with a layer of 5 cm. On top of all this, it is required to pour 5 cm of sand. Since a curb is required to the tile paths, it is installed in the same way as in the case of concrete and gravel paths. The tiles are laid on the sand, pummeling each rubber mallet. In doing so, use the building level to withstand the horizon line. If necessary, the tiles near the curb are cut with a Bulgarian.

Brick path

If for some reason you have left a lot of solid brick, then the path can be made from it. This is quite a laborious job, but the result is not bad. Brick can be any color. If there are different colors, then you can lay out the patterns. For the construction of such a path, as well as in previous cases, dig a trench, the bottom of which is laid rubble in a layer of 5 cm. Then comes 7 cm of sand, which is rammed and poured with water. After precipitation, all are again rammed. Now you can put bricks. Do this in two ways, either just on sand, or on cement slurry. Between the adjacent bricks, gaps of about 6 mm are left.

First put one row along one of the edges. Bricks squeeze into the sand or mortar, after which they put a board on them and punched with a mallet. This is necessary for the same leveling of the surface. The following series will be oriented to this first aligned series. When all the bricks are laid - you can begin to trowel the seams. Make it sand mixed with cement. For this, a cement mixture is poured all over the surface and brushed it in all directions until it fills all the gaps between the bricks. Then take the wooden slat and tamp the mixture in these gaps a little. After that, the path is poured from the fine spray, so as not to wash the mixture out of the seams. Cemented stains on bricks should be removed with a damp cloth. After 3 - 4 days on such a path you can walk freely.

Stone paths for the summer cottage

Cobblestone is the most unique and beautiful material for the device of garden paths. He has a different color and shape. The process of making a track from it is similar to the case with a brick. In the trench, a foundation is made, on top of which a concrete solution is poured. In it lay a cobblestone, pressing with force. You can stack it in any order, and maybe even lay out an interesting pattern if the stones are suitable for this. In contrast to the brick, cobblestones as close as possible closer to each other. Surpluses of the solution, which act on the surface, are removed.

Tracks made of natural stone are the most durable and expensive of all presented above. The period of their operation is unlimited. They are very good near various flower beds, because the combination of flowers and stone is unique. For paving is most convenient to use chipped stones. They should be about the same thickness. The stones are laid on sand preparation and adhered with cement mortar. Large and massive stones are placed directly on the ground, removing pre-turf.

Whatever the material is not paved the path in the suburban area, it must unequivocally fit into the overall design of the entire surrounding landscape and be relevant in this particular place.
