Boiler for the bath with their own hands

The most important stage in the construction of a bath is the installation of a heater - a stove or a boiler. And in order to find out how to install the boiler for the bath with your own hands, needs to figure out how it differs from the oven.

Immediately make a reservation that often there is no special difference between them. Of course, if the stove was laid out in accordance with all standards of stove art, then it is impossible to call it a cauldron. Just as it is impossible to call the furnace an iron barrel used for heating. But they have the same function:

  • to heat the room;
  • heat the water;
  • to heat stones.

When choosing a material also has its own nuances. So, boilers made of cast iron are rarely used, because they can not be put in a therma, but only in a separate room. In the same steam room you can put:

  • iron boiler;

  • brick;

Hundreds of years in the baths it was customary to erect massive brick kilns, but thanks to modern technologies today they produce mostly compact metal models.

Please note! Not everyone can afford to buy a factory unit, and in the presence of certain building skills, you can make a boiler for the bath with your own hands.

What you need to know about?

First, determine the fuel to be used, and therefore the type of boiler. Electric and gas appliances are undesirable to produce independently, but if the choice was made in favor of one of them, it is better to buy a ready-made quality boiler. Otherwise, the risk of emergencies will increase.

It is also worth noting that the installed gas boiler must be checked by a representative of the relevant bodies. Therefore, it is much easier to assemble and install a solid fuel assembly.

Making a boiler for a bath

An iron boiler has a fairly simple design. Preparatory work is to study the drawings of boilers, as well as in the purchase of all necessary equipment.

Step 1. Consumables and equipment

In most cases, boilers are made of thick-walled metal pipes. Experienced specialists use large barrels up to 200 liters, but in our case it is recommended to use a small tube ø50 cm in length of 75-100 cm. This will allow to design an apparatus capable of heating a room with a volume of 15 cubic meters, which corresponds approximately to an area of 9 m².

In addition, such tools will be required:

  • welding machine( electric);
  • Bulgarian;
  • circles on the metal.

Stage 2. Welding of structure supports

Cut the pipe

Cutting the pipe

After preparing all the necessary you can start working.

Step 1. The boiler body will consist of a pipe in which three supports are placed parallel to the ground at three different levels. This requires three pieces of reinforcement ø1.4 cm, each 3 cm long.

Level # 1 is required to install the oven.

The height of the level # 2 is calculated depending on the planned type of the ash door.

Level # 3 should be located 20 cm from the top of the structure.

Step 2. The bottom is a circle of the appropriate diameter, cut from sheet steel with a thickness of 5 mm.

Inner oven

Oven from inside

Step 3. All wood furnaces have a grate in their composition - a metal grill necessary for supplying oxygen to the combustion chamber( installed from below).It requires a circle of metal with the maximum possible thickness, perforated or with slits.

design Step 4. The furnace cover will also serve as a support for the stones, so it is cut from the same 5 mm steel. In the center of the lid a hole is made for the chimney.

Step 5. A hole is made in the lower part of the pipe for the box, it is closed with a furnace door.

Please note! The depth of the box depends solely on the thickness of the walls!

Step 6. The box itself is being built, a partition is installed inside it for the partition of the furnace and ash chamber. The level of this partition must coincide with the level of the grate, and the grate itself is located inside the boiler.

Stage 3. Assembling the structure

This process can be conditionally divided into several stages.

Step 1. The box is first welded into the construction. If the installation takes place in a room( and in our case it does), then the box must go either to the furnace compartment or to the street.

Step 2. Then a chimney is installed on the hole made in the lid.

Step 3. The foundation for the furnace is being built. It can be either a regular reinforced concrete slab or a 10-centimeter concrete screed filled with a "cushion" made of rubble 15 cm thick.

Step 4. The structure is mounted on the base, the stones are laid on the lid.

Step 4. Heat shield

In most cases, the screen is built of bricks. This can be done in two ways:

  • to lay the entire boiler;
  • fence it with a small wall.

Please note! At the bottom of the screen you need to make small holes - they are necessary for air convection.

Let's consider one more version of a stove for a bath - an open metal stove lined with bricks.

Stage 1. Preparation of all the necessary

Most of the consumables can be purchased in a construction shop, then the constituent parts are sold only in specialized outlets. So, the work requires:

  • sheet steel( 5 mm) for the walls of the structure;
  • steel( 10 mm) for the bottom - it should be thicker, because the lower part of the boiler is usually more exposed to high temperatures;
  • factory elements of the boiler( doors, taps, tank, etc.);
  • reinforcing bars ø3 mm - from them a mesh for stones will be built;
  • channels;
  • hardness of 1.5 mm thick for making a chimney( more precisely, its lower part);
  • asbestos for the upper part of the pipe.

Please note! For fixing the elements of the chimney flange connection is used, a flap is installed at the junction. This is the most fireproof option, since most of the channel will be protected from ultra-high temperatures.

Stage 2. Assembling the

structure with a built-in water tank: a - a heater with single walls;b - heater with side wall in the form of a water tank;c - heater with water tanks and air gap in the wall

Step 1. First a drawing of the future boiler is created - this is a very important and obligatory stage of work. In the drawing, there should be: a view of the structure from above, from the side and in the section, the main parameters of all the elements individually( in millimeters), sketches of the most important units,

For this you need to clearly understand the principle of the boiler, own special terms and the "language" of the circuit.

Step 3. The metal is being cut. Sheet steel is used to form a thick-walled box, which will serve as a hull for the boiler.

Please note! When cutting, you should use only high-quality scissors for metal, since this will determine the evenness of the edges.

Step 4. The cut sheets are welded together. To do this, you need to be a professional welder or hire one( for an appropriate fee), because the welding seams should be ideal.

Step 5. A brick screen is being constructed. It is necessary to mitigate the effects of high temperatures, the source of which will be a metal structure. A sort of box made of brick with ventilation holes around the perimeter( as in the previous version) is being built.

Now you are convinced that it is much easier and cheaper to build a boiler for a bath than a brick / stone stove, as no special knowledge and skills are required. Indeed, the level of complexity of the boiler does not go to any comparison with the laying of the furnace.

Name of stone Description
Hot ice( white quartz) Quartz has a unique healing effect: when heated and cooled with water, it emits autogenous oxygen, so that the air in the steam room is saturated with ozone.
Ozone enriches the blood with oxygen, improves overall well-being and stimulates the brain.
Jadeite Green stone. Jade is the most beautiful natural material that has ever been used in saunas. Due to its unique physical and mechanical properties, jadeite is the most durable stone for a sauna. Jadeite saunas are very popular abroad. The most fashionable and prestigious complexes consider it their duty to staff their saunas with jadeite, including LUX numbers.
Talcochlorite One of the main advantages is exceptional resistance to high temperatures. These stones can withstand heating up to 1600 ° C.In addition, certain therapeutic properties are attributed to talcochlorite, including normalization of blood pressure and metabolism.
Gabbro-diabase Gabbro-diabase is a deep-seated rock of volcanic origin, mined in the Urals.
With a relatively low price, gabbro-diabase has all the necessary properties for a stone for heaters, resistance to cyclic temperature changes, the ability to quickly heat up and retain heat for a long time. Supports the health effect of the bath.
Serpentinite Dark green stone with impregnations of minerals and thin veins, serpentinite is first of all suitable for those who are looking for stones with high decorative properties. It will decorate any steam room, and at the same time in its characteristics and strength is not inferior to other breeds.
Dunit Almost 90% of dunite consists of an olivine mineral, also known as peridot, chrysolite, and forsterite. It is believed that chrysolite normalizes blood pressure, has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the cardiovascular system, soothes nerves. According to lithotherapeutic studies, chrysolite helps to cope with colds, promotes the treatment of diseases of the eyes and spine.
Nephritis Studies conducted in our time have shown that the use of jade in a bath helps:
general cleansing of the body, increase skin elasticity, normalize metabolism, increase muscle tone, increase potency, increase stress resistance, and get rid of insomnia.
Jasper wax Wax jasper in folk medicine is considered the Universal Healer, a stone with high energy. It cleanses the blood, helps stop bleeding and healing wounds, treats many female diseases, beneficially affects the work of the heart, normalizes sleep.
