To reduce the level of heat loss in buildings or individual rooms, a layer of thermal insulation is arranged. The assortment of the relevant materials is quite large, the choice is huge. Individual developers often prefer to make the finishing of ecowools, as this product successfully combines high quality with an acceptable price.
We will not praise all its merits and compare it with other samples. The task of this article is to consider the "minuses" and determine how important they are for certain conditions of use. In order to understand all the features of the use of this material and its shortcomings, it should be noted that ecowool is the result of recycling cellulose waste with the addition of antiseptic compounds and flame retardants. So, let's start:
The inconvenience in mounting
- It is accompanied by the dust that the material emits. Therefore, finishing work is carried out using protective equipment.
- The material is loose enough, and its placement on vertical planes is associated with certain difficulties.
Restrictions on the use of
- Ecowool has a low density. The surface finish, which will be affected by mechanical loads during operation( different floors, systems of "floating floors") is impractical.
- On such a heater it is impossible to lay the plaster composition, since the layer will be destroyed due to the movements of the "base".
- Eco-wool mats are problematic enough to cover surfaces having a complex configuration.
- The ability to absorb fluids well does not make use of this material for external wall finishing or in rooms with excessive humidity. In principle, in all places where direct or indirect contact of products with water is possible, their use is not recommended without additional protective measures. And this is always associated with increased costs and time for the production of works.
- The use of ecowool for insulation significantly reduces the ability of the base material to "breathe"( although there is also the opposite opinion). But if higher requirements are imposed on the quality of ventilation, then it is better to replace this product with some other one. Or to provide the necessary clearance between the surface and ecowool, the arrangement of additional ventilation ducts and the like, which, in principle, will slightly increase the volume and complexity of the measures being taken.
CONCLUSION
Still, the advantages of Ecowat are much greater than the disadvantages, and in most cases the "minuses" are not so significant. The main thing is to take into account the specifics of the structure, all the nuances of finishing and, if necessary, take a number of additional measures.
