Technical characteristics of Porilex, its types and fields of application

Along with many polymeric materials of thermal insulation and sound absorption, Porilex was widely used. Depending on the field of application, products of different configurations are made from it. Each of them has special characteristics and operational properties. In order to understand all the diversity, it is necessary to carefully study the technical parameters of each type of porlex.

What is a porlex: types and applications of

The material of porlex production is foam polyethylene. During extrusion, the heated mass of polyethylene is affected by frothing agents. This leads to a reaction of dividing the material into small insulated cells filled with air. Then, using an extruder, the foamed mass is given the desired shape with certain geometric parameters.

Depending on the application, the porlex is divided into the following types:

  • Warming of the floor surfaces. For this, products with the designation of NPE are used.
  • For the creation of a heat-insulating layer on walls, attic spaces and for other internal works, a porlex of the brand NPE LF is used.
  • Warming of concrete structures in winter operation conditions is carried out with the help of NPE LCCP.
  • Isolation of seams and joints can be carried out using a non-tangle harness.
  • To protect the surface of heating pipes and water pipes, T.

hollow tubes are installed. Each of these types of porlex has its own individual technical characteristics, on which the operational properties directly depend. However, there are common parameters that are typical for all types of products.

Some of these indicators may vary depending on the configuration of the product and the availability of additional protective materials.

NPE

1 This is a substrate made of expanded polyethylene, the thickness of which can be from 2 to 4 mm. It is used as insulation of floors, has good indicators of resistance to heat transfer.

In addition, the substrate reduces the level of impact noise to 20 dB at a thickness of 3.5 mm. The material is characterized by convenient installation, improved flexibility. Cutting NPE can be carried out with a simple clerical knife. When choosing, pay attention to the size of the roll. At present, it is possible to choose an NPE with a quadrature of 10 to 50 m².

NPE EULP

2 This material is intended for the protection of concrete surfaces in winter. To provide heat insulation, the 10 mm thick polyethylene foam is covered with a layer of polyethylene black film( 200 μm).

Thanks to this multi-layer structure and elasticity, the material is able to withstand up to 10 cycles of use. The value of the heat transfer resistance for it is 0.26 m² * K / W, which is more than a good indicator for a heat insulator.

NPE Harness

3 Feltings made of foamed polyethylene are designed for heat and waterproofing joints and joints in concrete and wooden structures.

Depending on the size of the seam, you can choose a product from 30 to 50 mm in diameter. Extreme elasticity of the material makes it possible to use it when isolating joints with varying geometric dimensions. The temperature range is quite wide - from -40 to + 90 ° С.At observance of rules of installation the service life of a plait is 10-12 years.

NPE LF type C, A and B

4 When creating a heat-insulating layer with increased reflectivity, it is best to apply PORILEX grade LF.In it, over the expanded polyethylene, heat-reflecting material is applied.

A layer of foil is applied to the surface of a material of type C, which helps to reflect up to 90% of radiant heat. The other side has an adhesive base, which greatly simplifies installation on vertical surfaces. It can be used in the installation of warm floors, as well as internal thermal insulation of walls.

If it is necessary to install a heat-reflecting surface with increased energy-saving parameters, then it is best to use type A PE( one-sided foil coating) or B( two-sided).Depending on the parameters of thermal insulation, you can choose a roll material with a thickness of 3 to 10 mm.

The technical characteristics of all of the above materials are very similar to each other. However, the difference due to the type of construction or additional insulating( reflective) materials can significantly affect the choice of a certain model.
