Thermostat for heating
This device performs not only the function of adjusting the room temperature level. Thermostats also allow to regulate the level of hot water flow in the system, to save energy resources. Also, the thermal heads can perform a protective function, this is manifested in the fact that by means of an adjustment relay it is possible to easily disconnect a heating system element that has failed.
To ensure the performance of all the functions that the thermostat has, several elements work in it. These elements are:
- Thermostatic element. This element is a cylinder with corrugated walls and filled with a thermostatic substance. During operation, the thermostatic substance reacts to a rise in temperature in the system and changes the size of the cylinder, which moves the valve stem to the side of overlapping the flow of water or its increase.
- Valve. As it was said above, the valve in the thermoregulator system is used to regulate the flow of hot water in the direction of its increase or decrease. There are two types of RTD-G and RTD-N valves. The first view can be used in obsolete single-pipe systems. The second type is used in the newest two-pipe systems, as well as in the pipeline systems of cottages with double pumps.
Typology of thermostats
Modern thermostats, depending on the control method, are of various types:
- Mechanical temperature controllers. Regulation in this type of device is performed by means of a valve, which is equipped with divisions. Each division corresponds to a certain temperature level.
- Mechanical thermostats associated with electricity. This type of device is controlled by a valve, but in the system of work, the key is closed using an electronic system.
- Thermostats with electric servo drive. Servo is a device that is a thermostat control element. The thermostat operates after the receipt of a command. The command to the servo drive comes from a common thermostat, which is located somewhere in the room, after which the device closes the flow of water in one direction or another.
- Electronic thermostats. The principle of operation of such thermoregulators does not differ from mechanical ones. The difference lies in the fact that you can set the parameters of thermal control with the help of convenient buttons, the indications of which will be displayed on the display. The advantage of such devices is not only the convenience of regulation, but also a very small error in operation.
