Hello! Yes, overheating of the windings is possible, as a result of which a short circuit with all the consequences can occur.

But this is not always the case, some low-power engines can still be wedged and nothing will happen, but I do not advise you to check this. Bearings need to be lubricated, but from personal experience when they wear out, or if lubrication runs out, then the fan it simply will not start, only "from the pusher", if you turn the blade by hand, and that depends on the degree of wear.

In any case, periodically you need to pay attention to how easily your fan starts and how its impeller rotates. You can leave it on for a long time, if no one (for example, children) puts anything into the fan and does not jam it. By itself, during operation, I repeat, it is unlikely to stop, rather, after a stop, it will not start from wear.

In order not to disassemble the engine for lubrication, you can simply remove the plastic casing (fan housing), and drop oil, even machine oil, even spindle oil, even oil for sewing and clippers, and drip into the place where the motor shaft comes out (into the bearing), after which the motor rotate and, if possible, move the shaft longitudinally (along its axis). You yourself will feel that grease has got there and the rotation has improved.
