If you buy a tool, what to look for?
Jigsaw electric tableware is professional and household. The main difference between them is the capacity and time of continuous work. Like any other tool that is divided into household and professional, the first at its price is much cheaper than the second.
The main factor is power. It affects the depth and quality of cutting various materials. Another important feature is the ability to manually adjust the frequency of operation. There are tools in which you can set the frequency only before starting work, but there are those in which, depending on the strength of the push button on the start button, the frequency is controlled.
Most electric jigsaws have a "Bosch" tail for fixing the saw. However, there are tools that are adapted to work exclusively with saws of certain manufacturers. In this regard, this parameter should pay special attention when buying a tool. Power is possible both from the network in 220 volts, and from the battery.
Important! Weight plays a significant role in the purchase, because often there are situations when the tool is required to hold with one hand.
The first and simplest way to create a self-made desktop jig saw
You can make a desktop jigsaw with your own hands by choosing two options: a simple jig saw and a classic machine. Consider the first method. In the sheet of plywood, or other material, a slot is made for the saw, and a jigsaw is attached to it. For the screws, holes are created in the plywood and tool base. The gap can be made by drilling a small distance from each other a lot of holes, and a drill to smooth them. The finished structure is attached to the edge of the table using clamps.
This version of the machine has a standard blade from a hand-held electronic jig saw, which gives greater restrictions on the curvature of the cut. To complete the design and install a thin file, it is necessary to adjust the rocker arm. On one side of it will be attached a blade, and on the opposite end - a tension spring. The saw must be attached to the fragment of the standard tool in a place where it does not interfere with the work of the jig saw.
Note! If the tool has a pendulum stroke, it should be turned off.
The second, more complex version of the home-made desktop jig saw
This version is a classic machine. A thin file is attached between two rocker arms( upper and lower), and the tool transmits the movement to the lower one. To make such a homemade desktop jig saw, you will need a hand-held jigsaw, several screws, a piece of leather and a table on which the structure will be mounted. The procedure is as follows:
- A plate is removed from the jigsaw. For this, two screws are unscrewed;
- On the countertop, marking is made for the exit of the saw and fixing holes;
Note! A hole for the screws is made with a cogging at the height of the screw to drown it in the surface of the countertop.
- A tool is installed from the bottom of the table top. A gasket( leather or felt) is applied to extinguish noise and vibrations;
- Screws of the required length are selected, and the jigsaw is fixed.
This completes the work. The whole process takes no more than an hour. As a result, we got a stationary jigsaw and free hands during work, which allows you to more carefully make a sawing. Also a great advantage is the ability to work sitting, which reduces fatigue during a long process.
