Step-by-step instructions for replacing a drain

• When the water supply to the sink is turned off, the old siphon is dismantled. It should be borne in mind that there is still liquid left in it. In order not to spill the residues, a spacious container is substituted from below. An old cast iron product planted on cement will have to be removed with a hammer and a chisel. • The hole in the sink is thoroughly cleaned of contaminants.

Assembly steps

We proceed to the installation of the new device:

• The protective grill, together with the gasket lubricated with sealant, is installed in the hole in the sink and centered.

Important! During assembly, all gaskets are lubricated with a sealant, which allows you to tighten the connections without much effort and prevent leaks.

• A connecting pipe with a sealing gasket is inserted from below and is attached to the sink and grill with a screw with a wide screwdriver. At the same time, make sure that the grid on top does not move during installation. If the sink is double, both branch pipes are attached.
• A gasket is put on the flask, then the cap is screwed.

Note! The gasket of the flask itself does not need to be lubricated with sealant, since it often has to be unscrewed to clean the sump. It is convenient to use silicone grease. Then the cover will be easily unscrewed and maintain tightness after installation.

• Now you can collect the flask. A connecting pipe and corrugation are connected to it by installing conical rubber bands and plastic nuts.
• If there is an overflow hole in the sink and a suitable siphon is selected, an overflow hose is screwed to the outlet pipe. The upper part is inserted into the overflow hole of the sink and sealed with gaskets, as shown in the diagram.

• A rag is removed from the sewer pipe and the corrugation outlet is set there. The flask is inserted by the connecting pipe into the drain and fastened with a union nut. Here you can adjust its height. If the device joins an old cast-iron pipe, it must be cleaned of dirt and a rubber gasket installed at the junction.
• Water is supplied to the sink and the tightness of the assembled structure is checked. At first, it is better to leave the container under the siphon in case it does leak.
• Lastly, additional equipment is connected to the product fitting. The drain hose should be positioned freely, without strong bends or twisting. It is attached to the fitting using a clamp.
