The parquet floor favorite by many parquet floors gives the design of any room a special charm and chic. But over time it becomes old, the varnish wears off, the wood dries a little and the time of repair comes. The best solution in this case is to invite professional masters with all the necessary tools and equipment, as different types of wood require a different approach to repairing the parquet. But if you are confused by how much this "pleasure" costs or there is no possibility to invite the master for other reasons, you can repair the parquet and yourself. If it is very old, chipped, cracked, uneven, of course, in the first place, it is necessary to eliminate these defects. Recall, a more complete version of the repair of this coating is set forth in the previous article repairing the old parquet with their own hands, painted and the stages of varnishing. Be sure to read it after this article.
Looping old parquet
Loose parquets fasten, hammering a nail on the very hat( and even slightly burying it in wood) into a small drilled hole.
The creaking floorboards are fastened together with wooden pins, greased with carpentry or PVA glue and clogged into the hole drilled at an angle of about 45 ○.After the glue dries, the pin is carefully cut off.
All defects, and also places where nails are hammered or pins are inserted, carefully shpaklyuyut a mixture of sawdust and lacquer, which will subsequently be covered with parquet.
The slots between the parquet boards can be sealed with a special paste. Experts recommend that in order to avoid the "conflict" of used materials, apply putty paste, primer and lacquer produced by one manufacturer. In order to save paste and efforts to seal the slots, it makes sense to use a stencil that will protect the floorboards from getting putty. Depending on the temperature and humidity in the room, the paste will dry after half an hour-hour. Then the ground should be sanded using sandpaper No. 100, remove the dust formed by vacuuming, if necessary remove all traces of putty on the wood with sandpaper No. 120.
Now it should be decided whether in principle your floor can be subjected to cycling. If the thickness of the parquet board laid by you is 15 mm, then it can be handled manually five times, thin 8 mm - no more than three times.
If you can not cycle an old parquet or you do not want to do this, then the dark parts must be treated with a large sandpaper to a light layer. To remove fine lacquer particles, the treated surfaces are wipe with acetone, open with BF-6 glue and again treat with acetone.
If parquet can be looped, then at the slightest opportunity it is better to entrust this difficult process to professionals, especially since the cost of such works is quite affordable. You can, of course, buy an electric machine to simplify the process, but their price is quite high, and it will have to be used very rarely. It is better, in a pinch, to rent a car. This will significantly save your time and effort.
But if, nevertheless, you like the batching of parquet with your own hands and you are not afraid of dust, the duration of the process and the upcoming significant physical efforts, then get a ready-made cycle in the building materials store. It is much more convenient to work with it than with any self-made devices. In this case, it should be noted that the work of the cycle with the handle is shorter, somewhat more difficult, but much more effective - the result of processing is more qualitative.
Remove the top layer of wood, evenly pressing on the scraper and moving it along the wood fibers. In this case, the cycle of the old parquet will be neat and the surface smooth. In this case, do not forget to sharpen the cutting surface from time to time.
Manual parquet baking
The floor to be treated is sprayed or wetted with water so that the parquet flooring itself is less tedious. Some advise the treated area to iron through a wet rag with a hot iron. Begin the process from the middle of the room and lead the strip to the wall. The processed strips must overlap each other, they need to pass continuously from beginning to end. Cigaretting the old parquet, each strip is performed in the forward and reverse direction.
No matter how long and tedious the process of manual cycleing of floors, but this is just another stage of preparation of the floor for varnish coating. The next stage is grinding. To give rest to the hands that have been working at the previous process, it is possible to adjust the electric polishing cloth for grinding, fixing the abrasive paper on a fabric basis on the brush. If there is no polisher, then the sandpaper will have to be moved with a foot, which you can harden the paper to the floor and speed up the process. A layer of rubber glue on the back of the sandpaper will ensure its better grip on the shoes.
After that, it remains only to open all the varnish, see this step on the link at the beginning of the article. It should be noted that the darkened areas of wood that could not be removed by cycling can remain noticeable after the old parquet is coated with lacquer. Several to level the difference in the color of light and darker areas allows matte varnish on a water basis.
