Heat resistant varnish - protect the tree correctly

Characteristics of

refractory lacquer Under the influence of fire and high temperature, the refractory varnish forms a film that forms a heat-insulating and keram-like layer of a non-combustible foam box. Also in this process, incombustible gases are released, which prevent the access of oxygen to the wood.

In addition to the above, the flame retardant has the following advantages :

  • provides a vapor permeable coating;
  • texture and surface color remain unchanged;
  • is explosion-proof and fireproof;
  • gives the effectiveness of fire protection of the 1st group;
  • no odor;
  • does not have organic solvents;
  • does not emit dangerous substances for humans;
  • is non-toxic, has a water base.

What do I need to know before painting?

Before starting to work, the heat-resistant varnish must be mixed well to form a homogeneous mass. If necessary, then filter. If the varnish is very thick, you can dilute it with water, but it should not exceed 3% of the total volume of the material.

The surface to be varnished must be clean, free of dirt and dust. If it has bituminous or oil stains, they must be removed. In no case should you mix varnish with other diluents and paints. It is also not recommended to apply it to the frozen surface.

Fireproof wood varnish must be applied to structures that do not come into contact with water and undergo any mechanical treatment. This can cause the removal and damage of the lacquer coating, as well as loss of appearance.

You can apply the varnish in several ways: roller, brush or spray. When applying roller or brush, beware of bubbles, streaks, stains and other defects. If you do this with a pneumatic spray gun, the varnish should create a semblance of fog.

How to paint the work surface correctly?

Apply it in two perpendicular directions. The crossing of the strips forms an even covering of the entire surface. Also, to create uniformity of the layer when painting in parallel strips, it is necessary that the spray of the atomizer go beyond the edge.

The treatment of laminated wood surfaces must be approached with all responsibility and care. First you need to cover a thin layer of a small surface area, and if the coating is left unchanged, and the varnish is evenly distributed, then you should wait for drying, and then process the rest of the area.

The first layer should be allowed to dry for 8-12 hours, and subsequent layers should dry for about 4-6 hours at an air temperature of at least +20 ° C.To achieve fire protection of the 1st group, it is necessary to cover the surface in 3-4 layers. In this case, each layer should be allowed to dry for at least 3 hours.

In a room where painting work is to be carried out, there must be good ventilation. If natural is not enough, then provide compulsory. To work with this varnish, you should use rubber gloves, goggles and a respirator to protect the respiratory tract.

Surface covered with such material, for a long time retains its bioprotective, fireproof and decorative properties. The service life of products indoors is at least 10 years. In addition, the treated surface automatically becomes protected from the appearance of wood-staining and mold fungi.
