Feedthrough switch - connection scheme for 2 keys, photo and video

The inclusion of such a circuit-breaker in the electrical circuit creates additional convenience for controlling lighting in private houses or large-sized premises, for example, warehouse, production and so on. Although for apartment owners these devices are of interest. As an option - installation in the bedroom, which will turn off the light from another "point", located near the bed.

But, as a rule, we mainly mean products with one key. This is the simplest option. We'll figure out what the loop switch is for 2 keys, what is its peculiarity and how to properly connect the device.

p-1

2-key pass-through switches are available in several modifications. Further - an emphasis on the most common version of the product, working according to the scheme "2 inputs / 4 outputs".This is nothing more than a combined version of two one-switch type pass-through switches. It should be noted that similar devices, regardless of modification, work only in pairs. The installation of only one product in an electrical circuit is completely meaningless.

Principle of operation of the pass-through switch

Without the elementary knowledge of the device of a two-button switch, it is unlikely to be possible to understand by what circuit and how to connect it independently. The more accurate name of this device, based on the features of the functioning, is the switch, since at the moment of pressing the button, the contact group is transferred, and the circuit from the position "closed"( "open") is translated to the opposite.

It is advisable to start studying the principle of operation from a single-key analog. The diagram of its connection is shown in the figure.

p-2

It shows that the phase wire is only applied to one device( # 1).Between the other( No. 2) and the chain zero, the lighting device is switched on. Both pass-through switches are connected by conductors. Switching contacts can control lighting. The light bulb will light when their position in each of the items is the same. This corresponds to the closure of the circuit. The lighter will go out, provided that in one of the devices the position of the key and, accordingly, of the contact group changes.

Features of two-key instruments

Two phase conductors are suitable for device 1.Accordingly, and the keys - two.

p-z

Intermediate wires connecting switches, not 2, but 4.

This is called "2 inputs / 4 outputs".The 2-gang push-button type switch, if you look at its circuit, resembles a conventional relay having 2 pairs of contacts, only with manual switching. The device is designed to control the operation of 2 different luminaires( or groups of instruments consisting of parallel-connected samples).

How to connect the on / off switch to 2 keys

  1. Connects the contact groups of devices to each other.
  2. Connection of lighting fixtures.
  3. Connect the zero wire and lines from the feedthrough to them.
  4. Verify that the schema is built correctly.
  5. Connection of the phase conductor. With any electrical / installation work, "power"( power) is fed into the circuit at the last turn! !!

Connection diagrams

The design of devices from different manufacturers may be slightly different. Therefore, further - only the general order of inclusion in the chain. Before proceeding with the installation of the purchased loop-through switch, it is necessary to carefully study its scheme, which is always provided in the accompanying documentation for any electrical / technical device.

The author consciously cited similar schemes with different graphic design. This gives the reader the opportunity to choose one that is more understandable to him.

Variants of schemes by control method

It is made from two points

The scheme is the most simple. To avoid confusion with wires, it is better to use a cable with veins in a colored braid. How many should there be? At the inputs - 2, from the outputs - 4, and necessarily a couple of spare. Total - not less than 8 conductors. If grounding is provided, then plus 2 pieces. In the case of breaking any of the lines, it is much easier to make 2 switches than to replace cables( wires).

When controlling in two directions, the scheme looks like this:

p-11

Of three

points This inclusion is somewhat more complicated than and is used much less often. For example, on stairs with several spans( for "sectional" lighting off).Or in halls with more than two doors. In rooms, when one pass is placed at the door, and lighting control is necessary from two other points. In such cases, the cross switch is also required. It is not mounted separately - only in conjunction with the passageways.

p-12

p-13

It turns out that there is nothing complicated in connecting a pass-through device with 2 keys. It is only necessary to correctly determine where the phase and the zero in the distribution / box( using the indicator).

p-14

Note:

  • When installing devices, you only need to connect their same type of contacts( from the same pairs).Confusion will lead to the fact that the circuit will not work!
  • Unlike conventional switches, the pass-through has no fixed positions "on" and "off".Control of lighting is done only by transferring the corresponding key to another position. Therefore, for the first time, it may be necessary to get used to such devices.
  • In most apartment buildings, there is no third wire( ground) in the electrical wiring. But where it is laid, it is impossible to forget about it when connecting the door switches and lighting devices.
  • When using single-colored conductors, their ends should be marked. This will greatly simplify their connection in place.

And the last. If the cable( cable) has just been bought in the store, this does not automatically mean that it does not have any defects. External damage is easy to see, but with the internal is not so simple. And there are cliffs - due to inaccurate winding of the cable on the reel( drum) in the production, in the process of transportation, loading / unloading.

Conclusion - before laying the cable( wire) in the wall( under the plinth), it must be checked for an open circuit. What is a "chime" line with the help of a simple multimeter, there is no sense to explain. Those who do not know this will not be engaged in self-assembly.
