At first glance, the independent manufacture of a false ceiling made of plastic panels is a difficult task. However, even a superficial introduction to the technology of arrangement will help to make this work with your own hands without the help of professionals. It is important only to follow certain rules at all stages of the work.
Preparing for installation
First you need to draw a drawing of the future design. Despite its relative simplicity, a correctly made scheme will greatly simplify the further process of installing plastic panels.
Ceiling construction
It consists of two main elements:
- Carrying structure. It is made from wooden bars measuring 30 * 30 mm or from a stainless profile for gypsum board. The latter option is more preferable for arrangement in the bathroom or kitchen - in these rooms, high humidity, which can affect the durability of wooden components.
- Plastic decorative surface. It is formed from polymer flat sheets, which are connected to each other by means of a locking mechanism. It is located at the ends of the profile. The sheets are attached to the supporting structure.
The size of the bearing structure, the width and length of the plastic panels must be taken into account. It is necessary to choose such models, so that after cutting, there is at least a minimum of non-waste.
Framing
First, the level is used to mark up the walls. This is necessary to ensure that the plane of the supporting structure is strictly parallel to the floor. Then the galvanized profiles( UD27) are mounted around the perimeter - they will serve as a support for the main carriers( CD-40).For fastening in steps of 20-30 cm, suspensions are installed. The distance between the profiles is usually 40 cm.
It is important that the wiring for lighting is already prepared before installing all the elements. The ends of the cable must be carefully insulated.
The installation of the basic profiles takes place according to the following scheme:
- First they are installed in a frame located along the perimeter.
- Then there is a fastening to the suspensions. At the same time, the level of location of each profile is checked. They must be in the same plane.
The overall height of the structure relative to the rough ceiling is usually 5-7 cm. If the lighting devices are subsequently installed, their dimensions will be a guideline. In this case, the total distance from the ceiling to the plastic panels should be equal to the height of the fixtures +1 cm. This is necessary for the comfortable installation of electrical appliances.
Assembly steps
For installation of the panels, it is first necessary to install a ceiling plastic skirting board. It is located on the opposite wall from the door. Mounting is performed on the profile UD27.Also, the installation of the first panel begins.
Fastening the first rows of
After installing the first panel, it is attached to the supporting structure through the working edge. To do this, use self-tapping screws 9,5 * 3,5 with a burr and a semicircular head. They should fit tightly into the profile so that in the future they do not interfere with the connection of the next sheet to the mounting groove.
The most common installation of the last panel is the most difficult. Its width exceeds the distance from the plane already installed and the wall. Therefore, it should be cut carefully along. To do this, it is best to use a knife on plasterboard.
After that, the ceiling skirting is pre-installed. The last panel is mounted in it and is not attached with screws. At this installation of the plastic ceiling can be considered complete. In addition to installing the luminaires, holes are made in the plane of the ceiling. To do this, you need to use a special cutting tool. Otherwise, there is a high probability of damage to the plastic.
