What are the advantages of the system?
Heating of outdoor areas by cable has long been used by most offices, shops and shopping centers, which are important reputation. The advantage of laying a warm floor in the street is as follows:
- The surface will be clean and dry throughout the day.
- Tiles, asphalt or natural stone will not be damaged by mechanical shoveling or, worse, scrap.
- No injuries, which is especially important, even if we consider a country house.
As you can see, it really makes sense to install a heating system for tracks and steps. The cost of laying the warm floor will not be too great, in fact, like the electricity consumption of the system, if you do it right.
Self-stacking technology
As we said earlier, it is possible to make a warm floor in the street, if you know the technical aspects and nuances of laying. The design of the system is not complicated. It includes the heating cable itself, a thermostat, humidity and precipitation sensors, a signal cable( for connecting sensors) and protective automatics. As for the heating capacity, then, as a rule, for street calculation is reduced to 250-300 W / m2.In this regard, it is recommended to choose a conductor with a power of about 28 W / m.
Before proceeding with the installation of a warm floor, the surface must be carefully leveled. After that, according to the recommendations of the manufacturer, you must perform the installation of the heating conductor and its connection to the network, sensors, protective automation. Further, depending on the situation, a concrete screed is poured, after which it is recommended to pour a layer of sand after hardening. At the last moment you need to move on to the power of natural stone, tiles or other suitable material.
You can also do without screeds by simply pouring a sand pillow 3-4 cm thick over the warm floor. If you still need to fill the screed, be sure to fix the heating cable in the street with the mounting tape beforehand, as shown in the photo below.
The installation locations of the sensors are discussed in the enclosed instructions from the manufacturer. The thermoregulator itself needs to be installed in a room protected from precipitation and low temperatures. It is recommended to install the thermostat in the corridor.
When laying electric underfloor heating on the street, be sure to consider the important point - the cable should not be affected by paving elements. If you miss this point, in the future the cable heating system of the site may be damaged. Its repair will be extremely problematic and by itself - costly. There should also be noted one more nuance - if you decide to lay a warm floor on a sand cushion, make sure that there are no stones and other debris in the sand, becauseunder stress stones can damage the conductor.
If you want to do electrical heating of the steps on the porch, the cable is laid according to the chosen scheme with the same step over the entire area. After that, a concrete screed is poured, on top of which stone, tile or even marble is paved. By the way, an alternative heater in this case can be a thermo-tape or a tape.
