Repair of circular saws: how to hold and how not to bring the machine to such a state?

Solve the problem yourself

The reasons for the breakdown can be very different. Manufacturers recommend to begin with a thorough inspection of the instrument and try to visually determine the malfunction. If this does not give any result, then it is necessary to proceed to disassembly. The device of the circular saw is quite complicated, the main task is to reach the collector, because the main problems arise with it.

The collector needs to be removed, but it's not so simple. This should be done safely for the armature bearing, and neatly detach the motor armature from this bearing. For this it is necessary to use a sharpened tool that is inserted into a special recess in the middle of the motor shaft. Inserting it into the recess, you should hammer the instrument on the instrument until the shaft moves.

Anchor is removed and cleaned of carbon deposits, and if necessary changes. Next, the contacts of the collector windings are cleaned. It is also necessary to check their inductance with an ohmmeter, and if there are faults, the contacts change. Often breakage is a high friction between the cheek and its holder, which leads to jamming. If the cause of the breakage is this, then the cheeks must be installed strictly perpendicular to the holders.

Important! If you do not have any repair experience, it is better to take the tool to the workshop, otherwise you can aggravate the situation.

These faults are easy to troubleshoot and can be fixed on their own. However, do not forget that the tools on the guarantee are strictly forbidden to open, otherwise the guarantee for them is canceled. Therefore, saws under warranty should be handed over to specialized centers.

Sharp disc as a means of avoiding repair

In many ways, the quality and reliability of the circular saw depends on the ability to sharpen the disc. A poorly sharpened saw leads to an increased load on the tool, which reduces the life of the tool. The signs of wear of the disc are: the need to apply great effort at work, burning edges of the cut, a strong heating of the protective casing. Sharpening of circular saws starts from the back surface directly on the machine.

Before starting, mark the tooth from which the sharpening begins. When sharpening the first tooth, remember the number of movements, because the rest of the teeth should be treated exactly the same. If the disc is removed from the machine, then it is clamped in the vice with the help of wooden plows.

As the grinding wheel should rotate the disk. After the work is completed, the disk is installed on the machine and a trial cutting of the unnecessary bar is carried out. If there is strong noise and uneven feed of the material, it is necessary to check the teeth in height. If there are protruding teeth, then they should be filed to the general level.

Note! Precision grinding is possible only on special machines.

The best repair of circular saws is the lack of it.

It should be noted that improper operation of the circular saw greatly affects the life of the circular saw and leads to the urgent need for repair. Even knowing how to sharpen a circular saw will not save it when misused. Consider how to use a circular saw to repair it as rarely as possible:

  • Use only those discs that are suitable for this saw model;
  • All discs must be sharp, as blunt leads to engine overheating;
  • Always check the correct installation of the disc and the tightness of the clamp;
  • Never overheat the motor.

By sticking to such simple rules, you can maximally protect the tool from breakdowns. Remember that compliance with the operating rules is much cheaper than the necessary repair in case of breakage of the circular saw. Important! When working with a circular saw, you must carefully follow the safety rules.
