Problems with the cord and the switch

The electric drill is a portable device, therefore, basically, all problems are related to the flexible wire, which is fed. A problematic place is the place where the wire enters the drill and the place near the fork. Doing repair of electric drills, these places need to pay attention first. Such damage is often obtained by negligent handling of the tool, when working at minus temperature and getting oil products on the wire. If the external insulation gets damaged, it must be rewound with electrical tape.

Note! When the internal wire is destroyed, it is best to replace it.

The next weak link is the switch. Modern switches are made in the form of a button and have a small circuit that regulates the voltage. Determine whether the button works, it is possible to tester. If there is no voltage, then the problem can be either in the contact group or in the circuit itself. If the contact group has collapsed, it will have to be replaced with a new one. If the speed controller burns out, it can be shunted, but the tool will only work at maximum speed.

Dismantling and repairing an electric drill with your own hands

Another cause of breakage may be in the anchor of an electric drill. In order to verify this, it is necessary to disassemble the instrument. After disassembling your finger, you should try to scroll the anchor. If jamming is seen, then it can be said that the bearings are out of order. To get to the bearings and replace them, you will have to completely remove the motor with the gearbox.

Before you pull out the "insides" of the device, you need to remember where everything is, so that nothing gets mixed up in the assembly. After the engine is pulled out, it is necessary to separate the reducer from it. Further, the rotor is removed with bearings from the stator, and it is important not to damage the armature winding. The bearings are scrolled, and it is calculated which one is faulty. To remove the damaged element, the upper frame in which the bearing is fixed is separated.

Then remove it from the rotor shaft. If it is difficult to remove, then you need to tap it with a hammer through a wooden lining. When dismantling, make sure that the rotor does not fall to the ground, as this will break it. Everything, the damaged bearing is dismantled, and a new one is put in its place, the assembly process goes in the reverse order.

Important! If to beat with a hammer without a wooden lining, then there is a high probability of breakage of the elements of the instrument.

Should I rewind?

Having disassembled an electric drill, you should check the condition of the graphite shields. So, if they are very worn out, then they will need to be replaced. If the tool does not work after the replacement, you can buy a new drill. You can also turn on the drill and see if it works, if there is arcing on the collector and there is a smell of burning, this clearly indicates the burning of the winding due to the closure of the turns of the wire.

When winding the armature or stator winding, it is very difficult to rewind and it is not recommended to do this. It is much easier and less troublesome to buy a new part. But the winding of excitation can just be rewound and independently. To do this, you can take the coil of the starter coil or disassemble the transformer. To calculate the required number of turns, there are special formulas. But it is easier, when making unwinding, to count the number of turns and wind the new winding the same amount.

Important! When rewinding, it is necessary to lay coils strictly in one direction.
