Why you need a concrete mixer
In any type of work, tools for mechanical work or their automatic analogs are used. The choice of tools for manual or motor traction is based on the amount of work that needs to be done. The same situation occurs when kneading cement mortar for construction works. If 100 liters of solution is sufficient for their carrying out, it can be mixed in a trough with a shovel. But if you need to build a house, then kneading the solution manually will tighten this exercise for a very long time. Therefore, where a large volume of solution is required, a concrete mixer is used. It is enough to throw there the necessary amount of building components and after 15 minutes ready concrete.
Differences of the forced and gravitational concrete mixers
Concrete mixers are of gravitational and forced type. Gravity machines work by rotating the drum, which moves the solution inside and mixes it with blades. This unit uses in its work both mechanical traction and the forces of nature.
The principle of operation of the forced mixer is different. In this case, the bowl remains stationary, it rather acts as the reservoir in which the work takes place. Mixing of materials is carried out with the help of blades, which are inside the tank and are connected to the engine. This type of concrete mixer is designed to produce a large amount of mortar to support large-scale works such as building a house in several floors. Also in this type of equipment, unlike the gravitational concrete mixer, it is possible to produce kneading of sticky building mixes and rigid concrete.
But this device has large dimensions( covers an area of several square meters), a tangible weight( from 200 kg), and requires a high voltage of 380 watts.
The best specimens of compulsory concrete mixers
There are different types of forced-type concrete mixers.
The most powerful system among forced-type machines is a concrete mixer with a two-shaft kneading structure. The drum in this apparatus has a rectangular shape and is made of strong steel. Inside the tank there are two shafts, to which are attached blades, located as close to each other and to the walls of the drum. This significantly reduces the sticking of the solution during operation and increases the productivity of the machine as a whole.
Loading of the unit before work is done from above, through a special cone-shaped device. The water supply is carried out through a special system consisting of various pipes and pumps. Also there are inspection holes, through which you can monitor the work in progress, and windows for repairs. Draining of the finished product takes place through the hatch, which connects to the loading tube.
Forced concrete mixer with own hands
It is possible to build a forced concrete mixer with your own hands, but this work will require a lot of effort and materials. First of all, you need to prepare a drum of thick metal, shafts, blades and a powerful motor. Also, the work will need bearings. To build the structure will be necessary for the Bulgarian, welding machine, drill.
The work needs to be done in several steps:
Step 1 Preparing the drum
For this, a barrel or other tank of similar construction is taken. Then it removes the bottom and top, after which the loading window is cut out, the edges of which are trimmed with rubber.
Step 2 Create a support
A metal support is welded from the metal corner, onto which the prepared mixing chamber is then placed. It is necessary to check the stability of the structure by mechanical action on it.
Step 3 Assembling the mixing mechanism
After assembling the drum and the substrate, you can start assembling the kneading mechanism. For this, the blades are welded to the shafts and installed in the barrel through pre-prepared holes. Then the shafts are attached to the motor. Now the whole system can work. Before you start, it will not be superfluous to run it at idle speed to check if the system is working.
