What makes the universal workbench different from the usual one?

Workbench universal for loggia
It is easiest to buy a ready table for carpentry work, but folding options are extremely unstable, and the hulls are quite expensive, so let's combine both types in the design of our own manufacture. A regular location for the workbench will be a loggia, and the base is a built-in wardrobe of two, three or four compartments( depending on the width of the balcony).
We need a section close to the wall, in the lower part we cover it with a tightly fastened wooden shield( if there is a lower compartment with a door, we replace the door).Next, get rid of the door in the upper compartment, if it is part of a wide compartment, divide it with a vertical shield into two parts, the wall part should look like a niche. For example, we position the cabinet on the left, if we stand facing the wall between the loggia and the living room.
The basis of the workbench will be a frame of a beam section of not less than 10x10 centimeters. You can make it rectangular or with a wider left and narrow right side, that is, L-shaped. The second option is preferable if you need to install the front grip. To the left, the side cross member of the frame is attached 10 centimeters from the ends of the front and rear bars, so that the 2 cubes stick out of the frame. In them we drill through holes with a common axis, through them there will pass a metal pipe rigidly fixed in the lower part of the niche - this will be a hinge for the workbench, retractable into the cabinet.
A board with a width of up to 60 centimeters( and the work area depends on the width and height of the niche and should be slightly less than it) is laid over the boards and rigidly fastened with screws. Along the trailing edge of the tabletop( to which we fix the vertical protective screen with the screws in the wall of the window) we make a notch under the tools, along the front edge we cut out rectangular holes 3x2 centimeters under the fixing wedges and overhead stops with projections of the corresponding shape in the lower part. The distance between the holes is 2 or 3 centimeters.
We attach a U-shaped profile to the bottom surface of the right cross beam of the frame, and to the floor and wall we firmly mount the rack of the desired height from the board, corresponding to the width of the narrow part of the workbench. Now, if you lower the table top in the working position, the profile will lie on the upper edge of the support, ensuring a reliable fixation. Between the rack and the cabinet we install a bar fastened to the first wedge joint, and to the second one - using a metal bracket and a transverse axis.
It remains at the top of the niche to install a horizontal bar that rises strictly upwards on the hinge, which is laid on the stop in the opposite wall, which in the lowered position will hold the workbench removed in the niche. If space allows in the compartment, one side of the table top can be screwed with one more vice, the end.
