Some overall hoists are fastened to a previously prepared site with bolts, including electric ones, but this option can already be considered stationary.
For quick removal of the winch, it is best to fix it on a special outrigger boom, which in turn can be fixed with bolts to the base, and the lines to the pre-prepared mast.
So which winch to choose? If you have access to electricity, choose with an electric motor, the dignity of such a hoist - remote control and a smooth reverse. In manual lever and worm lifts, the reverse to the descent with a load is either not provided because of the ratchet locking the reverse stroke, or is difficult and requires several greater forces than lifting. Hydraulic winch is usually too oversized and expensive to use in a suburban farm or during construction.

If the metal of the cable or chain is not resistant to corrosion, it is useless to lubricate with oil, in due course anyway rust will take its toll. Moreover, the cable that is so dirty all around creates a lot of inconvenience.

It does not matter, manual is a winch with blocks or electric with remote control, never stand below, if the cargo needs to be lifted up .The fallen cargo, the broken cable - options for the appearance of trauma( sometimes incompatible with life) are many.
Therefore, if you purchased a winch, use it, being above it, that is, where the load needs to be lifted. As with the manual mechanism it will not work otherwise, if you do not use blocks. In addition, they can be arranged differently, namely, by letting the cable from the suspended winch through the lower block, then through the upper one, installed in line with the lifting device.
