- Power. This is the main parameter that divides jig saws into views. For cutting a thin metal, up to 0.5 millimeters, a household tool is quite suitable for you, a professional is needed for cutting 10 millimeters;
- Duration of operation. Household tools need rest as they heat up, while professional tools can work 24 hours a day without stopping;
- Functions. For simple cutting the most common tool is quite enough, but if the tasks are more difficult, then additional functions are needed, for example, for cutting a thick metal you need the ability to choose a low number of revolutions.
Note! Before buying, you need to know exactly which jobs will be performed. If it is exceptionally sharp for metal, then you need to take a special tool, if cutting the metal will be done periodically, you can buy a simple jigsaw with lower speeds.

When cutting Plexiglas and non-ferrous metals, the cloth must be moistened with water beforehand. Also, liquid petroleum oil can be used to facilitate the process. If the metal thickness does not exceed one millimeter, then a layer of plywood must be placed under it. The work should be conducted with little impact, so that the vibrations are minimal. The material must be secured securely.
