All the nuances of stowage of decking( more common name of KDP) are described in detail in the manufacturer's instructions, depending on the variety of this comparative new material. And, nevertheless, the author believes that the article will be useful to those who plan to do all the work themselves, but did not fully understand the contents of the instruction, especially if the board is imported.
It's no secret that in some texts after the translation into native, Russian sometimes just lacks common sense. Secondly, the proposed material will help homeowners properly assess their capabilities and determine the feasibility of acquiring a terraced board of wood-polymer composite, and not any other.
Basic rules for working with a terrace board
- The installation of WPC is carried out only at plus temperatures.
- The circulation of air under the decking should be effective.
- Like any material, the wood-polymer composite under temperature and humidity drops( to a lesser extent) is able to change its geometry. When installing terraced boards, this should be taken into account, leaving a gap between the samples.
- Direct contact of the entire structure with soil is excluded.
How to install the composite board
Drawing the
schema This is exactly what you need to start. First, you can immediately, based on the area of the future flooring, choose the optimal linear parameters of the composite board. Secondly, determine the order of its styling. Thirdly, depending on the features of the site, pick up all the necessary components.
For example, if it is supposed to lay out a garden path from a composite of wood-polymer, then you can immediately specify the slope of the terrain. So, to buy the same supports under the lags to provide the required angle. In addition, in the presence of a ready-made scheme, one can always rely on a substantive consultation. Terraced boards are sold in specialized stores, and managers in them quite professionally understand all the features of mounting the PDK.
Tools
The work with composite is not complicated. Depending on the specifics of the laying, you will only need what almost every owner has.
- Al / drill.
- Tool for sawing. It is better, if it is an electric model of a saw, then the cutting will be much more equal.
- Screwdriver( if there is such a possibility), as screwing fasteners with screwdriver will complicate the work and reduce the speed of mounting the composite.
- Construction level and tape measure( required).
- Screws( if it is planned to open the installation). And not any, but only with a coating( anticorrosive).
The following rule is fulfilled, regardless of the material with which to work - it must "adapt" to local conditions. Therefore, after the delivery of the composite and its unpacking, it is advisable to proceed with installation not earlier than 36 hours. During this time, you can conduct a number of other preparatory activities.
Basis of
As a rule, the installation of a terraced board is associated with its laying as a finishing floor covering. However, the wood-polymer composite can also be used for wall cladding, building gables. But the requirements to any basis are unchanged - evenness and reliability. Further, the features of mounting the flooring from the KDP will be considered, since this kind of work causes the most questions.
Possible base variants:
- screed with subsequent treatment with bitumen based composition;
- lag;
- floor joists.
If a terrace board is used as a flooring, then it is necessary to provide a natural drainage of water from this segment. Excessive humidity under the composite reduces the period of its maintenance-free operation. Therefore, the area intended for laying boards must be inclined. Which one?
Too large will be noticeable, insufficient - will not provide a natural outflow of water. Optimum is considered a difference in height of about 0.8 cm per 1 pm.flooring, although here you need to consider the dimensions of the surface to be trimmed.
Installation of log
A strong platform is being built under them. It can be a reliable screed( not less than 50 mm), asphalt coating, slabs w / b or paving slabs. It has already been said about the deviation. How to fix them depends on local specifics. Feature - in their location on the site.
As already noted, the composite wood-polymer moisture should not accumulate. To drain the liquid, lags must be laid in the direction of the slope of the site. The interval is about 40 - 45 cm.
If, for some reason, such an installation is not possible, it is permissible to mount in the other direction, even perpendicular to the ramp. But in this case, with a small length of the log, gaps remain between them( about 25 mm) for natural removal of water.
Note
- When installing the flooring on an already prepared monolithic base, before installing the log, it is necessary to cut through it( cut out) small shtroba( channels) to drain liquid from the site.
- Fastening of guides is made only by anchors. Given the specifics of the operation of the flooring, no other methods( for example, screws + dowels) are suitable.
Fixing of
composite boards There are 2 ways of fixing.
Samples
In the terraced board, in the designated places, holes are drilled. Further - screwing the fasteners in the lag, at an angle.
Clamps( plastic or stainless steel)
The plate is screwed to the bearing support, after which a composite board is inserted into its groove.
Features of
- "Departure" of the end of the KDP beyond the edge of the lag should not exceed 50 mm. If this condition is not observed, additional support will be required.
- A gap of at least 10 mm is left between the last in the series composite board and any vertical obstruction( for example, the building wall).
The final stage of the installation of
It consists in evaluating the results of the work, identifying the individual deficiencies( and correcting them). For example, small scratches are easily "removed" by emery fine paper.
Immediately installed additional elements - stubs on the end parts of the deck( or laths), composite corners and so on.
Common errors when installing the terrace board yourself
- The clearance between products is too small. As a result, the composite is deformed and the floor arches. On what to navigate?1 meter of the terrace board on average, with the expansion, adds in the length of 0.5 cm. Therefore, it is impossible to make a calculation for a specific sample of the WPC labor.
- Large distance between lags. The optimum is 400 mm. The increase leads to an increase in the load on the composite, as a result of which it bends over time, and crevices appear in the flooring.
- Errors with spatial orientation of the KDP.The terraced boards are laid in a certain direction, and the majority of manufacturers on the end parts of the samples put the arrow-pointers. If this is not taken into account, the flooring from the KDP may turn out to be striped.
- Use of wood log. When buying a composite, you need to buy the corresponding support elements( polymer or metal lags). As a rule, sellers always pay attention to customers. For example, the products Y50-85( 98), K30-51.The difference is in the coefficients of expansion of the WPC and wood. With sudden changes in temperature, the construction of dissimilar materials will begin to break down, and regular repairs of the flooring will be necessary.
- Short fixing feet. As a result - insufficient strength of fixation of the composite on the logs, which leads to loosening of the boards. Such a flooring will not last long.
- Acquisition of structural elements from different manufacturers. It should be taken into account that in most countries there is no such concept as GOST.All large firms develop their own standards that do not run counter to generally accepted requirements, for example, the norms of the European Union. Consequently, some discrepancies in certain parameters are possible. This will not only complicate the installation of the composite board, but also directly affect the final result in the form of cracks, unevennesses and the like.
