Houses of fixed formwork - fashion or rational approach?

Why is it convenient to build a house from a fixed formwork?

In order to build a house of fixed formwork, heavy construction equipment is not needed at all. Fixed formwork is made of expanded polystyrene. The big plus of this technology of construction is that this formwork subsequently also performs the functions of thermal insulation, waterproofing and soundproofing of the erected object. The width of the formwork is about 25 cm.

This technology is advantageous for building prefabricated energy-saving houses, as well as in those areas where low temperature is the norm for most of the year.

Advantages of application of non-removable formwork in construction:

  • Due to its low density, this formwork does not load the foundation of the building. Therefore, houses from it can be built on a middle buried foundation. This solves the issue of construction on soils with a high level of groundwater and saves significant funds.
  • Houses of fixed formwork, these concrete monoliths, have excellent earthquake resistance and wind resistance.
  • Styrofoam is a non-flammable self-extinguishing material. Decking of it provides fire safety at home.
  • This formwork is not rotted, it is not destroyed by termites and fungi.
  • The material from which the formwork is made does not absorb water.
  • This modern technology allows you to save money significantly.

Disadvantages of application:

  • Attachment to seasonality of construction, becauseWhen walls are built from this material, concrete is poured inside, then at low temperatures, problems arise with its hardening.
  • In summer, at high temperatures, it is also necessary to create concrete good conditions for solidification, for example, to moisten it.
  • Mandatory object grounding. Construction of this technology involves the use of iron fittings, so to avoid lightning, it must be grounded.
  • Forced ventilation. Due to the fact that the polystyrene foam is practically vapor-proof, the house will have to install a ventilation system.

Houses of fixed formwork - the choice is made, we proceed to work

If we consider all the advantages and disadvantages of non-removable formwork, we will have to admit that this construction technology is very interesting and promising. And its wide distribution is just beginning. The construction of houses from a permanent formwork is, of course, the next step on the road to the evolution of construction.

To build a cottage, a permanent shuttering of which will seriously save on warming and payment for energy services, it is not difficult. When constructing this technology, even a special tool is not required, it is possible to do what any master has: manual saws, hammers, ticks, knives, electric screwdrivers, a container for mixing concrete, shovels.

At the time of the construction of walls from the formwork on the construction site, work should already be done:

  • for pouring the foundation with mandatory releases of vertical reinforcement;
  • made a horizontal waterproofing of the foundation;
  • on the surface of the foundation marked the projected opening locations;
  • installed installation of wall lighthouses.

Construction of houses from fixed formwork - self-assembly

After all the preliminary works, you can immediately start the assembly of the fixed formwork .

  1. The blocks are laid on a waterproof and horizontally verified foundation. When installing the first row, the bars of vertical reinforcement connected to the foundation are passed through the cavities of the blocks. The horizontal grooves are laid in special grooves of the blocks.
  2. Installation of second-row blocks is carried out according to the principle of ordinary brickwork. This allows a very rigid fixation of the shape of the structure.
  3. The third row is a control row, the blocks are aligned along the vertical masonry.
  4. When installing non-removable formwork units, experts recommend concreting no more than 3 rows of blocks. Concrete is prepared here, on the construction site. After the first three rows are poured, the following three are stacked and concreted.
  5. It is important to know that it is necessary to start the pouring with concrete from corners, openings, slopes, and only then pour the rest of the wall.
