Variants of
There are a sufficient number of options for manufacturing a wicket from the corrugated board with your own hands, as well as several options for combining with various fencing materials.
Very common and, perhaps, the standard option is the fixing of the corrugated board to the metal frame. The second option, inferior to its predecessor in the simplicity of execution and budget, but winning in terms of design - a combination of corrugated board and wrought iron. This option of fencing solves both the problem with the visibility of the site, and the problem of appearance. Modern colors of the material allow you to successfully emphasize the decorative forging and make a stylish and high-quality enclosure.
If we talk about combining the corrugated board with other elements of the fence, it is worth noting that this material looks great in combination with stone, decorative tiles and bricks. If you plan to perform the entire fence of corrugated board, do not forget to use decorative elements. You can also experiment with both color and texture. Thus, you will get rid of the monotony of the fence and achieve the desired visual effect.
As you already understood, you have where to go for a walk in the field of design. Now let's talk about the technical part. You can build a strong and high-quality wicket by yourself, adhering to our simple rules.
Do the wicket with your own hands
Stage 1. Installation of pillars-supports
We will need steel poles with wall thickness from 3 to 5 mm.and dimensions of 6 by 8 cm( or 8 by 8 cm).The length( = height) of the poles is calculated in such a way that it is equal to the desired height of the gate + 1 - 1.2 meters, this is the length that will be under the ground.
It's important to understand that just hammering a post into the ground is not enough. You need to dig a hole for each pole with a diameter of 30-40 centimeters, put a pillar in it and fill it with a concrete mixture. Do not forget to use the level and remember that 100% hardening of concrete occurs only after 10-14 days. At this time, you should not experiment with the strength of the supports.
Step 2. Making a frame
In order to make a frame, we need a few details. This is a very strong and level base and clamps for fixing the structure. A SCE sheet can be used for the base. Do not be lazy to do everything this way, because the strength of the design directly depends on the quality of performance.
We prepare pipes for the frame of the same parameters as the supports. On a flat and solid foundation with clamps we fix the frame of our future wicket. Do not forget to use the level at every step.
After correct marking - we start welding. It is also important to weld the frame of the hinge to the side pipe on which the wicket will hold. We weld the second part of the hinges to the supports using welding. Also to the frame you need to attach a plate, into which the lock will crash.
Step 3. Fastening the base sheet
To attach the material to the frame, we need screws with washers made of rubber. Preliminarily cut out by the Bulgarian under the dimensions of the frame, the piece of corrugated board is laid on the base and fixed with screws.
In order to avoid deforming and damaging the facing sheet, we recommend that you pre-drill small holes in it for self-tapping screws.
We also need to think about processing the edges of corrugated board and frames. We recommend choosing a quality paint that will protect your wicket from deformation and rusting.
Stage 4. Combine the
structure The fixing of the finished wicket to the supports is done in 2 steps. First, you fasten the gate to the pole in any convenient and accessible way, you can use large clamps, weld the second parts of the hinges to the supports with a weak mounting seam, and then try to open and close the gate several times. This process should not cause any inconvenience.
Only after you have made sure that everything is good - fasten the wicket completely.
Lock on the wicket door
So, we completed the bulk of the work, which means that the finishing touch will be - mounting the lock in a special plate, which we welded to the frame of the gate. In the second support column, you need to drill the holes in the lock.
Completion of
The last, but important, stroke is to close the top of the pillars with the plugs. You can fix them with welding or insert decorative elements in them.
Now you have a gate, and if it does not already exist, it will soon be there. And remember that only step-by-step execution of works, lack of laziness, quality materials and a great desire will lead you to the desired result.
