Production of a sketch for the creation of jewelry
The technology of making gypsum stucco includes the sequential execution of simple tasks, thanks to which beautiful decorations for the house are obtained. Before you start making stucco moldings, you need to make a model of jewelry from plasticine.
The product model is needed in order to later cast a plaster decoration on it. We make the plasticine model a bit larger than the intended product. Plasticine allows you to change the shape of an object unlimited number of times, until you get what you want. After the model is ready, a number of actions are performed in the following sequence:
- the gypsum is dissolved to the consistency of sour cream;
- the first layer is applied to the sketch with a brush to cover all the grooves;
- the second and subsequent layers of gypsum are applied with a spatula;
- allow to dry for 1 hour;
- remove the mold from the plasticine model.
If the product is large, after the first layers of gypsum it is necessary to lay the reinforcement from the copper mesh. The completion of the mold for molding the moldings is to cover the sketch from the inside with a furniture colorless varnish or shellac. This is to ensure that the cast does not stick to the casting of products.
Manufacturing
When the sketch for stucco is ready, you can proceed directly to the manufacture of the product. First of all, you need to prepare the material, that is, to dissolve the gypsum. It is bred to a consistency, similar to the consistency of sour cream. Pouring of the material is as follows: first a small amount of gypsum is poured into the mold and distributed in small grooves with a brush.
Important! When distributing the composition, care should be taken to ensure that there are no air bubbles in it.
After the gypsum is distributed over the depressions, the remaining material is poured into the mold so as to fill it up to the base. The surface must be leveled with a trowel to an almost perfect smoothness. This is necessary in order for the product to lie flat on the surface during installation. The gypsum will harden for about a day. A well-dried product when tapping a little rings.
After the material has hardened, the gypsum adornment is carefully removed from the mold, and all the defects are eliminated with a scalpel. The final work is the grinding of the product with fine sandpaper to eliminate all flaws on the surface.
Assembly of moldings
Installation of gypsum stucco is quick and easy. First of all, it is necessary to clean the area on which the product will be glued from whitewash and other contaminants. If the cornice is chosen as an ornament, then it is necessary to note the exact boundary of its passage, and for a ceiling rosette, draw a circle in which it will be mounted.
After the areas are marked, in the stucco and on the surface are made notches with a chisel. This is necessary for better adhesion of the adhesive to the material. The products are glued on a solution of gypsum, in which joinery glue is added in the ratio of 3% of the glue from the total weight of the solution. Then the prepared surface of the ceiling or wall, as well as the molded parts, is wetted with water and a solution is applied to them with a brush.
Important! Having installed the decoration in place, it should be slightly moved, and the excess solution to remove the spatula.
