Laying ceramic tiles with your own hands

Before you start laying

First you need to decide which object to work with? Floor, wall, facade? In most cases, the process is almost no difference, but do not forget that the finish should lie on a flat surface. In this we will help primer - with it you can level the floor and walls. Usually just one layer is enough, with a few exceptions, two. As for the choice of the tile itself, it's up to you. The modern market presents a huge selection of color scales and shades. But before making a purchase - remember that you do not need to be limited to one color - you can make a floor or walls in different combinations of colors( for example, red and black, blue and yellow).

Laying the tile - the main stage of work

Before you start, you need to choose one of the styling styles. The main three:

• Linear. The material is laid horizontally and vertically in even rows.
• All in all. This option involves the displacement of the elements of the finish at a distance proportional to their size.
• Diagonal. The tile is put in butt of corners.

The following materials and tools are required:

• Tile itself.
• Special adhesive( available at any specialized store).
• Cutter for cutting ceramics.
• Pencil, tape measure, level
• Saw for ceramics.
• Primer for working with floors and walls( if necessary).
• Scraper with rubber packing.
• Bucket, sponge and rag.

Among other things, you will need special crosses that are placed on the joints of the tile and are responsible for the distance between the tiles.

The installation of ceramic tiles begins with the fact that "beacons" are exposed.

1. Arrangement of "lighthouses".Most often they are put on a plaster mixture, as it "grasps" much faster than cement. In the role of "lighthouse" tiles are used along the edges and are exhibited on the level. In the diagram:
   • 1-3 - "lighthouses" placed at the corners.
   • 4-5 - "lighthouses" are intermediate.
   • 6-7 - wall "beacon".
2. Based on the "lighthouses", "lighthouse" rows are laid, which will be the main one. Mounting at this stage occurs using glue. It can be applied to both the tile and the plane where the material will lie down. We fill the gaps of the "lighthouse" series with the main array.
3. We put the laid tiles. For this we need a wooden bar and kiyank. This is a "tapping".As in the photo.

   

   It is important that no vacuum zones are formed under the tile. Therefore, many masters lay the tile initially slightly away from the main row, and then move, but risk so, if you do this for the first time, it's not worth it. At this stage we place markers. Adjust the position of the tiles can be within 10-15 minutes. After that, if the result is not achieved, you need to remove them, clean them from the previous mixture and apply a new one.

4. If glue comes out of the seams - it must be cleaned with a damp cloth so that at least 3 mm of the depth remains free. The ceramic tile laying is not as difficult as it might seem. And yet, all the processes, subtleties and nuances of laying a tiled floor or wall cover are difficult to understand in theory.
