Why do we need a sink under the countertop?
When the design of the bathroom is being developed, we usually distribute the places where all the plumbing fixtures and appliances will be located. Sometimes it turns out that most devices are located along one wall. In this case, most designers will advise to make this option a countertop. This will help different things to get a general look and a general orientation in style. In general, it itself can become an exclusive embodiment in the design of the bathroom.
Combine a washing machine and a sink in one piece, only the countertop is really capable. But not all washers are suitable for such a mess. For example, pendant or on a foot - tulips are absolutely not acceptable. For these purposes, it is best to use built-in or overhead sinks for the bathroom with a countertop.
Types of sinks under the
countertop. Built-in or mortise, they got their name because of the way of installation, they are cut into the countertop. This is the most common way, such shells are cheaper than invoices, but they have a very attractive appearance and unusual design. Moreover, such a washing can be installed either slightly below the level of the countertop, or slightly higher, or at a level. The plus of this installation is that the countertop with the sink does not clutter up the space, but, as it were, free it. The downside is that during installation it is necessary to observe all dimensions very clearly, and it is always good to lubricate the joints with a sealant, so that there are no unnecessary leaks.
Overhead washers, as you know, are installed by simply applying to the surface. In themselves, they can serve as a bathroom decoration, there are no joints like a sink, it can be installed above the washing machine, keeping excess space in the room.
How to install a sink in a bathroom with
top In general, there is nothing complicated in this, you can install it yourself. Thus it is necessary to remember such things:
- The installed sanitary technician should be convenient in operation.
- It should not be located close to the wall.
- It should not be on the very edge.
- And of course it should not fall in.
And so, we decided on the general direction, proceed directly to the installation. What you need to independently install a sink with a countertop:
- Ruler;
- pencil;
- hacksaw;
- drill;
- sealant;
- pliers.
Take the sink, turn it upside down on the surface of the countertop and outline the contour with a pencil. Then measure the distance from the fasteners to the edge of the sink. According to the outline that we have drawn before this, we do the second, reduced exactly by the distance that we measured from fastening to the edge. On the second contour, you need to cut out the hole for washing with a hacksaw or electric jigsaw.
Then grind, and very well polish the inner edge of the cut, handle with silicone, then insert the shell itself. If an extra silicone is squeezed out during the landing, then you need to remove it. Insert the fasteners and tighten. Actually the sink is inserted, now this construction should be left until it dries completely. Then you can connect the siphon and mixer.
You can certainly invite a specialist to do everything himself, but you can invest your skills, enthusiasm, and maybe even a creative raisin when installing a sink with a countertop in the bathroom.
