Arbolitic blocks are a material that is actively used in low-rise construction. If we talk about its composition, it consists of sawdust( wood shavings) and cement mortar, usually of the M-200 series, M-400.Speaking about the history of arbolitic blocks, their use was realized back in the 1940s of the last century, when a lot of factories produced these blocks and it should be noted that they were very popular not only for temporary but also for capital housing. Speaking about the use of sawdust concrete blocks, it is advisable to use them in low-rise buildings or, for example, when building a house on a ribbon foundation.
Advantages of using arbolitic blocks
The sawing blocks have surprising qualities firstly - this is certainly a cheap type of production of blocks for the subsequent construction of a house. Secondly, the arbolitic blocks have good thermal insulation properties, yes, yes, they keep and store heat inside the house perfectly. The third advantage is the ease of production of sawdust blocks, even for beginning builders. Finally, the fourth and fifth advantages include fire safety of this material and its strength and durability with an appropriate level of compliance with the technology.
Manufacturing technology for arbolitic blocks
In order to ensure that the blocks are formed in the correct form and do not collapse under the influence of time, it is necessary to make shavings from 3 to 15 cm in length and from 0.5 cm to 2 cm in width.
- Of course, first we will need a huge amount of wood sawdust, the process of obtaining sawdust can be different for everyone, someone else remains after turning work, someone passes them through a chipping machine, someone orders sawdust from sawmills, but speaking ofsimple receipt of wood shavings, we advise you to visit your local sawmill and agree on the purchase of waste( shavings), as they are usually discarded or simply burned.
- The second stage after harvesting of wood chips will be its aging in the street - this will give a cleaning of the shavings from sugar, which will have a negative effect on its composition, exposure to outdoor conditions takes about 40-80 days while you need to turn over and scrape your heapwith sawdust, so that air would penetrate into the lower layers, rather than stay on the surface. By the way, in order to maximize the effect of the pile, it is necessary to water abundantly with calcium oxide.
- Once our raw material has been resting on the surface it must be passed through a large sieve - this will remove it from debris and other organic materials that will serve as a destructive factor in the formation of blocks.
- The next step is to soak the sawdust with water with the addition of liquid glass, the finished mixture must be kneaded in a special concrete mixer, but note that when the kneading occurs it depends on the strength of the arbolite blocks you want to impart, in the standard classical application the proportion is 1: 2: 6 that is, for 1 bag of cement there are 2 bags of sand and 6 bags of sawdust.
- Please note that minus the construction of the house from sawdust concrete is its susceptibility to rat and mouse "attacks", but do not despair there are several ways to protect it: the first is after the foundation to make a concrete fill about - half a meter in height and the secondthe way is to pour directly into the arbolitic blocks an ordinary mesh - rabitsu, so that the rodents do not have access to our blocks.
- After our solution is ready, the final part remains - this is the creation of a special form of arbolitic blocks. The form is attached using a special template, which has the shape of a rectangle. By the way, pay attention that the area inside the block is covered with linoleum, so that the solution does not stick to the walls of the block.
After our solution is poured into the mold it needs to be shaken properly, in order that the areas are not inflated on the walls of the mold, they gradually knock with a hammer, and they pass the vibrator better, which undoubtedly will give the best effect.
