Oak floor waterproofing of the foundation

Oak layer waterproofing of the foundation is used to protect against pressure groundwater with a hydrostatic force of more than 0.1 MPa. From omazochnoy waterproofing it is distinguished by its high mechanical strength and water resistance. Oak waterproofing is carried out in the form of a continuous carpet, consisting of several layers of roll material, connected together by mastics and adhesives and fixed on the base.

Installation of roll materials can be carried out in several ways:

  • By gluing with mastic and glue;
  • By gluing on a self-adhesive layer;
  • By fusing by heating a bituminous or polymer layer applied to a roll-up waterproofing.

Selection of roll material for waterproofing

For selection of backing insulation it is necessary to know the operating conditions of the foundation, the type and humidity of the soil. Roll materials can be used for both horizontal and vertical waterproofing, and the choice of material is determined by the appointment of waterproofing. In the range there is a roll waterproofing on different basis and with different types of coating, which differ in mechanical strength, resistance to the action of chemically aggressive liquids, resistance to underground radioactive gases, as well as to various hydrostatic forces of pressure groundwater.

For horizontal waterproofing of the slab foundation, roll materials with increased strength of the base, on a polymer or fiberglass basis, are used - the slab foundation serves simultaneously as the floor of the basement floor, therefore the use of floating bituminous materials is less suitable because of odor and low ductility.

Vertical waterproofing of a recessed basement with a high level of pressure water and rocky ground is carried out using roll materials with abrasive sprinkling - they have high resistance to damage.

In places of radon outlet waterproofing with a protective foil layer is used, it protects from the radioactive radiation the space of the basement and the basement floor. In places of active growth of plants, roll materials with biosecurity, resistant to germination of roots are used.

Technology of waterproofing waterproofing

  1. Preparation of the foundation for waterproofing includes a number of steps. It is necessary to level the base, remove the protrusions and rub with grout mortar, sinks and damaged places. The expansion joints are further treated with a sealant. Surface must be dried, remove traces of fats, paints and rust, worsen adhesion. The edges, sharp edges, protruding reinforcement are cut. Before laying roll materials, the surface is primed and dried, a layer of lubricating waterproofing is applied over the primer and kept until completely cured. After preparation, the foundation is ready for pasting with roll materials.

  2. Materials with a self-adhesive layer are glued to the prepared surface, tightly pressing and rolling them with a firm wide roller. On the horizontal plane, the layout is selected so that the minimum number of joints is obtained. Vertical waterproofing is made of strips cut along the height of the foundation. The overlap of adjacent strips is 10-15 mm, each subsequent layer is laid by the center of the strip on the seam of the previous one, in staggered order. Places of joints are additionally glued with polymer glue or mastic. The top layer is also covered with coating insulation.

This work is more convenient to spend together, especially on vertical surfaces. The roll is laid with an adhesive side to the foundation and, gradually heating, rolling out and pressing against the substrate. The edges can be additionally waterproofed with bitumen.

  4. Materials that require gluing are laid in a similar way, only after the preliminary application of the adhesive. The number of layers must be at least two to protect against seepage, and at least three at a hydrostatic head from 0.1 MPa.

  5. Oak insulation on vertical surfaces, especially in areas with ragged soil, is protected by a structure of brick, concrete, insulation. Without protection, the pasting waterproofing can deform when the foundation is shrinking, as well as during seasonal soil movements.
  6. If horizontal and vertical waterproofing is applied, it is necessary to withstand overlapping at angles of at least 30 cm. With the drainage device, the waterproofing must be made below its level so that moisture drains through the drainage pipes. Drainage at a high level of groundwater is performed around the perimeter below the depth of the foundation.
  7. Backfill is produced with coarse sand - water easily passes through it and is collected in drainage, due to which the pressure on the waterproofing coating is reduced, and the soil under the basement is reduced, which prolongs the life of the building.
  8. For additional protection against atmospheric moisture, a waterproofed blind is made: they are poured with rubble around the perimeter of the building, concrete casing with a slope from the walls is poured, and after drying of the concrete, the waterproofing of the shuttering is finished and then it is finished with high-strength cement or tiles. The roll waterproofing is then laid with overlapping on the walls, having pre-arranged the fillets.

Oak waterproofing has become widespread, both in private and in multi-storey construction. With the right choice of material and high quality of the work performed, its service life is 20 years or more, and with timely repairs to the basement and the basement floor, there is no danger of wetting and high humidity. Insulation of the foundation from the outside allows additional protection of the basement from condensation moisture.

A modern type of roll waterproofing can be called membrane films with protective studded coating. They perform a dual function: they do not let moisture pass from the ground to the foundation and facilitate the evacuation of water vapor from within the basement. Moisture condenses on the outside of the coating and is drained away, and the studded polymer coating evenly distributes the ground pressure and prevents deformation of the foundation.
