We make the system of drip irrigation for the greenhouse

The drip irrigation system is a special method of irrigation, in which irrigation water is supplied in portions directly to the roots of the plant by means of special droppers that dispense water.

Today such a system is the most perfect and effective both in terms of water consumption, and in terms of plant saturation with life-giving water.

This method is so successful that it allows growing plants in those areas where there is no regular irrigation with water, and every liter of water is very important.

In addition, components for assembling such a system can be found in the nearest garden supplies store.

Before we disassemble the sequence of how to make the system of drip irrigation, we will thoroughly and comprehensively analyze its advantages, its details, types, nuances in its design, and begin to collect the system by hand in stages.

You will also find a video on how to properly assemble the irrigation system on your site.

Advantages of drip irrigation

The drip irrigation system for plants has a wide range of obvious advantages:

  • abundant harvest, before the usual terms;
  • no weeds;
  • no soil erosion;
  • there are no plant diseases;
  • saves up to 50% of water - there is no evaporation;
  • the use of fertilizers is reduced by half;
  • water does not get on the plants - they will not get burned in the sun;
  • the soil does not dry, it does not crack - roots are better ventilated;
  • uniform watering - the automatic system will flush the plants without your participation;
  • to harvest and process plants can be irrespective of the watering time;
  • simple installation - accessories are in every hardware store;
  • laid the hose once and you can forget: no dirt, maimed plants;
  • greatly increased the range from loosening to weeding;
  • plants last longer;
  • pipe wear is reduced;
  • resulting in a large savings in money and time.

Drip irrigation

As you can see from the list above, the irrigation system for greenhouses is a profitable method in all respects, which, moreover, is very simple to create and operate.

Composition of drip irrigation system

The system includes the following components:

  1. drip lines - can be both tapes and tubes. The line is laid on a bed with already planted plants. It can be one-time, for one season, also for a long-term season, for several seasons;
  2. drip tubes - are made of polyethylene, for a given step, droppers are placed in them. The channels in the form of a zigzag in them hold the head of the supplied water;
  3. drip tapes - also consist of polyethylene. Strips are folded into tubes, then heat sealed. Inside the seam there are holes that feed water to the plants. Tape is laid on top of the bed strictly exactly, droppers at the same time should look up. The tape ends with a blank;
  4. main pipe - the main hose, through which water is supplied. It is attached to a crane or irrigation vessel, at the same time strictly at an angle, so that gravity does its job, feeding water. The highway is laid along the irrigation canal and the diverting pipes are already separated from it. The hose should be firmly mounted on the ground, fixing the staples directly in the ground;
  5. dilution tubes - are needed to bring tape and water for each individual plant in the irrigation section;
  6. filter for irrigation water - a fine filter is usually used, which purifies water supplied from the tank from small inclusions. If watering is carried out with chlorinated water, the filter is also important, so that the roots of the plants are not saturated with heavy salts and chlorine;
  7. water intake for irrigation - in the role of the fence there is a faucet that is mounted either after the filter or in front of it. The crane is a simple but extremely effective part for controlling the volume of water supplied;
  8. node for the use of fertilizers - speaking briefly and technically - the node of fertigation. It is a special device that connects to the main pipe and evenly supplies water with soluble minerals and special top dressings, which are also dispensed as water.

Drip irrigation

By the way about accessibility: watering accessories are sold with a ready-made set of "unpacked-assembled", and separately - to assemble under the features of your site.

Drip tape: types and their differences

The drip belt in the irrigation system is found in 9 out of 10 cases. It is used decisively for all types of irrigation.

In total, a lot of different tapes are produced, which are combined into 3 types.

Type 1 - labyrinth

This type of channel is formed on the tape itself, its surface. It reduces the rate of water supply, reduces water consumption, but when unwinding, there is a risk of easily breaking the maze.

In addition, putting the tape release of water upwards is difficult, irrigation is uneven. This is already an outdated version of irrigation, which today hardly ever occurs.

Droplet tape

Type 2 - slotted

Labyrinth channel is built into the tape itself, in its entire length. In the right places are cut culverts, which evenly feed water and well tolerate a lot of cycles of unwinding-unwinding.

But for the use of such a tape, a good filter is always needed, which detects particles from 1 mm to 80 μm, which else should be searched.

However, such a requirement in terms of particle size is no more than a recommended condition.

Droplet tape

Type 3 - emitter

The difference between such a system and the others lies in flat droppers built-in at a certain distance from each other inside the tape. This tape is very resistant to clogging, it self-cleaning.

Droplet tape

Separately it is necessary to say about the thickness of the tape:

  • 5 mil - 0.125 mm: the thinnest, suitable for annual plants that mature early;
  • 6 mil - 0.15 mm: suitable for normal soil, used for plants with a long maturation period;
  • 8 mil - 0.2 mm: universal tape, can be used several times in a row;
  • 10 mil, 12 mil - 0.25 mm, 0.3 mm: tape with a thick wall, is needed on stony ground, also used several seasons in a row;
  • 15 mil - 0.375 mm: the tape with the thickest wall, is used where there is often a mechanical effect( wind, stone crashing, invasion of insects).

Self-irrigation system: production example + video

To build a drip irrigation system on your site, you need to tell her the slow water supply.

As a source of water make-up, the tank, a barrel for several tens of liters, will be used, which must be placed above the ground level at a height of 2 meters.

From this capacity we extend a 1 cm diameter pipe under the slope.

Next to each irrigated plant in the tube, make a hole, insert into it an injector, through which water will flow into the roots.

Using the dispenser, tap, automatic system, it is possible to regulate the water supply.

Before the direct assembly, draw the plan:

  1. The filter is placed in any convenient location, provided that it is located between the water source and the main pipe;
  2. A trickle tape is connected to the main pipe by means of connectors;
  3. The dropping tape is laid according to planting;
  4. Close the end of the drip strip with a plug.

For the production of your irrigation you will need:

  • watering kit;
  • pipeline( preferably of polyethylene);
  • drill;
  • scissors;
  • marker.

The set is simple, besides it is better to take the complete set and follow our instructions( see also video) than to try to collect watering from the various components that are sold separately.

Drip irrigation

It's worthwhile to think about fittings if your garden is not ranked.

Follow a number of rules to purchase the required number of components:

  1. measured the length of the beds, the distance between them - chose the length of the tape and the main pipeline;
  2. measured the number of plants on the site - as much as necessary seals, cocks and additional tubes;
  3. it is better to have a stock of fittings, corners, in order to be able to locally irrigate other plants.

Now let's analyze the process in detail - the video also shows all the stages.

Connecting the main pipeline

Using the fitting, connect the main pipe with the hose. We put the filter. The main pipe is connected with the filter to the tank.

Next, marking the holes, installing the drip tape. Knowing the location of plants, we put the tape according to their location.

This is done like this:

  • markers mark on the main pipe mark - there will fix the tape later;
  • drill holes with a drill on the marks;
  • the seal should forcefully enter the hole and hold securely;
  • in the seals we connect the connectors with the tap( the tap must be necessary - it will be possible to turn on / off the whole bed separately, but not the whole system at once);
  • attach the drip tape to the connectors.

Production of drip irrigation

Assembling the drip strip

The drippers should be placed on top of the tape.

Now we finish its installation:

  • we carry a tape on all length of a bed;
  • cut the tape to the desired length, fold, fix with tape;
  • if the beds are located outside the rows, the tape can be branched with a special fitting - cut off the tape, insert the tee / corner and direct the watering where necessary;
  • main pipe is muffled at the end of the plug.

The watering system is ready!

Video:

The drip irrigation system with its own hands is easy to manufacture and requires a prepared plan with measurements and, of course, compliance with the technology of laying sleeves - those tapes with branches to plants.

Completing systems can be purchased separately, but even easier - to purchase a complete system.

But if you decide to collect your own video, then watch the video - in it we summarized all of the above on the part of building your own system.
