Types of trenchless laying of pipes
This type of work enables underground laying of communications without disturbing the ground covering, which is already a positive moment. In addition, this method of laying pipelines has a lot of advantages:
- It costs much less money;
- The speed of work is higher and besides at any time of the year;
- Safety of roads, other communication systems, as well as the surrounding landscape;
And besides, the aesthetic appearance of streets, courtyards, squares and roads does not deteriorate, which have to be rebuilt for a very long time by bulldozers dug up and somehow covered with ditches.
To date, there are several methods of laying pipelines without digging trenches:
- Land pumping;
- Puncturing by hand;
- Horizontal drilling;
- Using old pipes.
Advantages of each technological process
The question arises, which method is better? In fact, everything will depend on the specific situations, condition of the ground, weather conditions, as well as the equipment used, on which the price of such a service will depend. Having considered in more detail each method, you can easily draw further conclusions.
Second life of old pipes.
This method requires the use of special equipment - a hydraulic calibrator. Its function is to push a new pipe inside the old pipe. For this, the pipeline is connected directly to the calibrator and, gradually moving inside the pipe, completely fills it with itself. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the following: the diameter of the new pipeline should be larger or similar to the old one, only in this case it will be cost-effective to use the calibrator. In all other cases, it is sufficient to use a conventional winch, capable of independently cope with this task.
Injection of soil.
This method is ideal for laying large diameter pipes( 1.5-2 m) in porous and loose sandy soils with hydraulic jacks. In practice, it looks like this:
- First, a deep well is digging, the walls of which are well strengthened;
- At the bottom of the foundation pit is installed a hydraulic jack;
- The piston is mounted horizontally;
- Then a piercing path is punctured with a pneumatic bump stop;
- The pipe is directly inserted into this route and fixed by the piston;
- After that the jack starts moving in the right direction along with the installed structure;
- The earth plug formed inside is removed mechanically.
Do not use this technology if the pipe diameter exceeds the permitted dimensions, because even welded, such structures will not continue to move in the desired direction, but can change it at any time.
Horizontal drilling.
This method of trenchless pipeline laying involves the use of a special drilling rig and makes it possible to lay pipes even in places where other methods would be powerless. The only exception is the areas blurred by groundwater.
Drilling technology is not very complicated and looks like conventional horizontal drilling. High power of such equipment allows to develop the horizontal drilling speed up to 20 m / h. The advantage of this method is the possibility of laying for long distances with a diametrical size of 1.5 m pipes.
